What is Monarch Yamomato?
Monarch Yamomato is a secret unit within Anime Vanguards, celebrated for its impressive burn damage and skeletal summoning capabilities. Earning this unit is like winning the Bleach update, a testament to its top-tier status. As a burn-type unit, Yamomato excels at inflicting continuous damage over time, weakening enemies and paving the way for victory.
However, what truly sets Yamomato apart is his unique trait—the Monarch Trait—and the synergistic way with which it compliments its skills.
The unit also heavily relies on its ability to create units via South Skeleton ability, and if built right becomes the ultimate unit with damage over time in Anime Vanguards. A properly upgraded Yamomoto is also a perfect standalone build as demonstrated in the video. It's no wonder why the creator was excited to demonstrate this unique champion.
Many content creators claim Yamomato is the best unit, and the content creator of this video is here to find out.
Understanding the Monarch Trait
The Monarch Trait is a central mechanic that amplifies Yamomato's base stats and allows him to become a devastating force on the battlefield. Units with the monarch traits are very powerful and can carry teams to the end Game with enough investment. The monarch trait for secret Yamomato increases Damage, Skill Point Average, Range, and placement limit. With the appropriate rolls, this unit can become virtually unstoppable. Traits are able to be re-rolled, but that process has the potential to become addicting as the content creator in the video describes.
The content creator wants the "solar" roll, not the monarch roll. The solar Roll offers increased range and slight increases to damage and attack speed.
This addiction can be costly and it is important to budget accordingly.
Maximizing Burn Damage with Yamomato
Yamomato's primary strength lies in his burn damage output. A core component of his kit is his passive ability “Head Captain”, where attacks inflict burn for 25% of damage. That doesn’t seem like a lot until it is fully stacked, at which point it becomes a real problem for the opposing side.
To optimize burn damage, it is essential to focus on units that can further amplify this effect, creating a chain reaction that decimates enemy forces. Consider synergistic pairings such as characters with abilities that increase burn duration, damage, or spread. It's also important to manage trait rolls, as the content creator states, “I need to stop spending traits whenever I just have them bro.”
Utilize a team composition that maximizes the amount of burn applied. Stacking a team of burn focused units will dramatically increase the amount of damage over time done by the team and is a viable late game strategy.
Skeletal Summoning and Strategic Placement
Adding to the burn damage, Yamomato is also capable of summoning skeletons to the battlefield, allowing for map control, chokepoints, and increased overall damage potential. These skeletons, summoned through his “South” passive, are not merely cannon fodder; they inherit 40% of Yamomato's attack stat and deal burn damage.
The South passive allows each enemy killed to come back to life as a skeleton with 40% of this units' attack stat. This gives a low budget way to add additional units for more damage.
Managing Yamomato's skeletons involves tactical placement and upgrading. Ensure a steady stream of skeletons to act as defensive barriers, slowing down enemy advances. Upgrading Yamomato will further bolster the skeletons' stats, making them a formidable component of your defense. A critical part of this skill is to keep Yamomoto in the fight for the entire duration, as if the unit goes down, the skeletons vanish.
For every skeleton alive on the track increases damage by 2% (up to 30%). It is extremely important to summon as many skeletons as possible as this dramatically increases the core damage output for Yamomato.
Team Composition Synergies
While Yamomoto is powerful on his own, a synergistic team composition can significantly elevate his performance. Focus on pairing him with units that complement his burn damage and skeletal summoning strengths. Consider units with the following attributes:
- Damage Amplification: Units that can increase the damage of allies, directly boosting Yamomoto's and his skeletons' burn output.
- Crowd Control: Characters that can slow down, stun, or group enemies to maximize the effectiveness of area-of-effect burn attacks.
- Sustain: Support units that can heal or protect Yamomoto to ensure his longevity and continuous skeletal summoning.
Maximizing Stats: An investment Analysis
When showcasing the unit, the content creator notes that every stat is a triple Z. High tier units generally have very high stats. He is also able to clear level 1 of the story mode with basic units, without Ichigo or Estar, showing the units damage potential. These are important things to keep in mind when measuring a champions power.
Metric |
Description |
Damage |
A higher damage stat means more total damage being applied to enemy units. |
Skill Point Average |
The frequency and total effect that a unit skill has. |
Range |
Units with range are able to be placed behind stronger melee units and still do damage. |
Placement Limit |
How many total skeletons are able to be summoned to the field from Yamomoto. |
It's also important to note that as units go up in their tier, the total cost per level goes up as well, so a cost benefit analysis is important.
Potential Bug: Skeletons Don't Appear To Last!
At
, the content creator speculates if the skeletons stay on the map permanently. They soon find that this is not the case, and there is some degree of micromanagement in keeping Yamomoto in the field. This dramatically increases the difficulty of the unit and could be a potential downside in upgrading it.
Skill Analysis: Are AOE units the future?
The content creator goes on to further discover more about the unit, such as that the skill "North" pulls skeletons to the front of the battle when used.
At [5:01] the content creator finds that this is a great active skill. But after further use, concludes it is terrible. "NORTH" pulls the skeletons away from their defensive position. It may have an offensive purpose, but can also be a detriment in more situations. More information and math will need to be done.
High Investment For Mid Game Damage
The content creator mentions having 2k views, but is only running at 20 frames per Second due to the units graphical power. [t:01:03]The graphical load is extremely high, which makes it very tough on the hardware. Graphical settings in the settings menu are soon turned down to help with unit graphical load.
Giyu's Final Verdict
During the play session, Giyu states that all that the skeletons get mowed down before reaching the front line [t:07:00]. Giyu concludes that the unit is broken, or OP, and that's why the game is running so slow from graphical load. At max level, plus with Rengoku and Saburo, a lot of raw stats and burst damage is able to be provided to the team. With that in mind, it's time for the verdict.
At max level, this is a very strong unit. But there are also downsides, such as graphical performance. Giyu believes you should still build it though!
