Importing and Preparing Your Video Clip
The first step in using Filmora's AI Object Remover is to import the video clip you want to edit. Here’s how:
-
Open Filmora: Launch the Filmora video editing software on your computer. If you don’t have it installed, you can download it from the Wondershare website.
-
Import Media: Click on the “Import” button in the media panel. This will open a file explorer window where you can select your video clip.
-
Choose Video Clip: Navigate to the folder containing your video clip and select it. Click “Open” to import the clip into Filmora’s media panel.
-
Drag to Timeline: Drag the imported video clip from the media panel down to the timeline. The timeline is where you’ll be making your edits.
Once your video clip is on the timeline, you can make any necessary preliminary adjustments. For instance, you might want to trim the clip to focus on the specific section containing the object you want to remove.
Accessing the AI Object Remover
With your video clip prepared on the timeline, the next step is to access the AI Object Remover tool:
-
Select the Clip: Click on the video clip in the timeline to select it. Selecting the clip ensures that the AI Object Remover will be applied to the correct segment of your video.
-
Open AI Tools: Locate the “AI Tools” section in Filmora’s interface. This is usually found in the toolbar above the timeline.
-
Choose AI Object Remover: Within the AI Tools, find and click on the “AI Object Remover” icon. This will open a new window dedicated to the object removal process.
Using the AI Object Remover Tool
Now that you’ve accessed the AI Object Remover, you can begin selecting and removing unwanted objects from your video:
- Smart Brush Selection:
In the AI Object Remover window, you’ll find several options to customize the tool. Ensure that the “Smart Brush” is selected. This brush intelligently identifies and selects objects based on their appearance.
- Adjust Brush Size: Modify the brush size using the slider to match the size of the object you want to remove. A smaller brush is ideal for selecting small or intricate objects, while a larger brush is better for bigger, more straightforward elements.
- Select Objects: Carefully brush over the object you wish to remove. As you brush, the object will be highlighted, indicating that it has been selected. You can also manually adjust selections as needed.
- Remove Objects: Once you've selected the object, click the “Remove” button. Filmora will then use its AI algorithms to analyze the selected object and seamlessly remove it from the video, filling the space with a natural-looking background. Note that using this function will consume AI credits.
- Verify Removal: After the removal process is complete, review the result to ensure that the object has been completely removed and that the background looks natural. You can use the preview function to play the video and check the overall effect.
Refining Object Removal
While Filmora’s AI Object Remover is highly effective, there may be instances where you need to refine the removal process to achieve a perfect result:
- Alternate Object Removal Methods: Experiment with different object removal techniques to find what works best for your specific video clip. Some methods might be more effective for certain types of objects or backgrounds.
- Manual Adjustments: Use Filmora’s other editing tools to manually adjust the background if needed. You can use tools like cloning or patching to further refine the image and ensure a seamless look.
- Preview and Iterate: Continuously preview your video and make small adjustments as needed. Refining the object removal process is often an iterative task that requires patience and attention to detail.
Exporting Your Final Video
Once you're satisfied with the object removal, it's time to export your final video:
- Click Export: Click the “Export” button in the top right corner of Filmora’s interface. This will open the export window.
- Adjust Export Settings: Customize your export settings, including video resolution, frame rate, and file format. Choose settings that match your desired video quality and file size.
- Choose Export Destination: Select the folder where you want to save your final video. Make sure you have enough storage space available.
- Start Export: Click the “Export” button to begin the export process. Filmora will then render your video and save it to the specified destination.
- Verify Export: After the export is complete, verify the final video to ensure that it meets your expectations. Play the video and check for any issues or imperfections.
