This Openclaw Skills writing coach helps parents guide elementary-school children through revising their own compositions. It accepts typed text or photos of handwritten and printed work, then provides parent-oriented guidance, kind child-facing feedback, conversation suggestions, and a manageable practice activity.
The skill prioritizes encouragement and learning over grades: it identifies a specific strength first, addresses only a few important issues at a time, and offers sentence- or passage-level examples rather than rewriting the whole composition. Openclaw Skills also applies strict input checks and privacy-conscious defaults, including no long-term writing profile unless a parent explicitly enables it.
The supplied SKILL.md does not specify a CLI installation command, a required runtime, or a fixed installation path. Add the skill directory and its bundled references/ files through the installation process documented by your OpenClaw-compatible agent host; do not omit the references, which contain review standards and output guidance.
Before reviewing a composition, provide the child’s grade. You can also specify the composition prompt or teacher requirements, a preferred mode, and any output preferences. The available modes are complete review (default), quick check, structural guidance, and encouraging revision support.
The basic review-method package is included in the skill and works offline. No external API is required for the default workflow. Advanced review services are disabled in this version, and the skill must not expose an advanced-service entry point, read credentials, or make network requests. Growth-profile storage is off by default; enable it only after reviewing the data scope, deletion method, and confirmation process.
The skill does not define generated files for ordinary reviews. Its default response is Markdown, with a complete review organized around strengths, the most important issues, revision suggestions, words to say to the child, and one small exercise.
| Information area | Organization and handling |
|---|---|
| Review modes | Complete review, quick check, structural guidance, and encouraging revision support. A one-time request changes only the current review, not long-term preferences. |
| Composition taxonomy | Person, event, scene, object, imaginative writing, reading response, practical writing, and picture-based writing. If classification is uncertain, provide the most likely type and reasoning or ask the parent. |
| Reference materials | references/grade-standards.md, references/composition-types.md, references/basic-review-methods.md, and references/output-templates.md guide analysis and response structure. |
| Photo input | Supports readable photos of handwritten or printed work. It does not generate annotations on the original image. Unreadable or missing content must be flagged rather than guessed. |
| Optional growth profile | Limited to one child or household in this version. It is opt-in and should not retain the full composition, original image, complete OCR, school, class, address, or unrelated personal information by default. |
| Profile schema | Profile operations must follow references/profile-schema.md. The supplied SKILL.md points to this file but does not include its field-level schema. |
If the host cannot persist data or run the required profile workflow, the skill must not claim that information was saved; it should offer an export option or keep the result limited to the current session.
