Introduction

Welcome to another processor comparison on our YouTube Channel. In this video, we will be testing four X99 processors and analyzing their performance in various gaming scenarios. We have previously conducted several comparisons on this channel, and we will be creating a dedicated playlist for these comparisons. If you're interested, you can find the playlist link in the description. For this particular comparison, we will be focusing on four processors, including the 2696 V3, which I have never tested before.

Overview of Processors

X99 Processors

The X99 processors are known for their high performance and are especially suitable for tasks that require heavy processing power. They offer a range of features and capabilities that cater to different user requirements.

Comparison of X99 Processors

We will be comparing four X99 processors in this video: the 2696 V3, 2640 V3, 2666 V3, and 2680 V4. Each of these processors has its own unique specifications and capabilities, which we will explore in detail throughout this comparison.

Testing Setup

Selection of Processors

The choice of processors for this comparison was based on their popularity and availability in the market. We selected the 2696 V3, which is the main focus of this comparison, along with the 2640 V3, 2666 V3, and 2680 V4.

Selection of Motherboard

To ensure compatibility and optimal performance, we recommend using the Mash Nich MR9 motherboard with the 2696 V3 processor. This motherboard provides the necessary support and features for a seamless user experience. You can find the link to purchase this motherboard in the description.

Gaming Performance

COD Warzone 2.0

In our first test, we evaluated the performance of each processor in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0. With the graphics set to low and a resolution of Full HD, the 2696 V3 delivered an average of 89 FPS, while the 2640 V3 achieved 86 FPS, the 2666 V3 performed admirably with 97 FPS, and the 2680 V4 reached 83 FPS. It is important to note that the 2696 V3 consumed the most power, while the 2680 V4 demonstrated the lowest power consumption.

CS2

Moving on to CS2, we once again tested the processors at Full HD resolution with low graphics settings. The 2696 V3 achieved an average of 183 FPS, followed by the 2640 V3 with 161 FPS, the 2666 V3 with 202 FPS, and the 2680 V4 with 182 FPS. Similar to the previous test, the 2696 V3 and 2666 V3 exhibited higher power consumption, while the 2680 V4 consumed the least amount of power.

Cyberpunk 2077

In our next test, we examined the performance of the processors in Cyberpunk 2077, again using Full HD resolution and low graphics settings. The 2696 V3 achieved an average of 120 FPS, the 2640 V3 matched that performance with 120 FPS, the 2666 V3 exhibited a slightly better performance with 127 FPS, and the 2680 V4 achieved 115 FPS. It is worth noting that Cyberpunk 2077 favors higher clock speeds, resulting in better performance. Additionally, the power consumption was highest in the 2696 V3 and lowest in the 2680 V4.

Forza Horizon 5

For our Forza Horizon 5 test, we continued with Full HD resolution and low graphics settings. The 2696 V3 delivered an average of 159 FPS, the 2640 V3 achieved 49 FPS, the 2666 V3 achieved 155 FPS, and the 2680 V4 achieved 156 FPS. The performance between the 2696 V3, 2680 V4, and 2666 V3 was quite similar, with the 2640 V3 slightly falling behind. It is worth noting that Forza Horizon 5 benefits from both cache size and the number of cores.

God of War

Moving on to God of War, we maintained Full HD resolution and low graphics settings. The 2696 V3 achieved an average of 115 FPS, the 2640 V3 achieved 100 FPS, the 2666 V3 achieved 116 FPS, and the 2680 V4 achieved 118 FPS. This particular Game seemed to favor newer processor technology and memory frequency, with the 2696 V3 experiencing higher power consumption and the 2680 V4 delivering an excellent performance with lower power consumption.

Horizon Zero Dawn

In our Horizon Zero Dawn test, we once again utilized Full HD resolution and low graphics settings. The performance among the processors was quite similar, with the 2696 V3 achieving 200 FPS, the 2640 V3 achieving 189 FPS, the 2666 V3 achieving 201 FPS, and the 2680 V4 achieving 199 FPS. The power consumption demonstrated a similar trend, with the 2696 V3 and 2666 V3 consuming more power compared to the 2680 V4.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Moving on to the Resident Evil 4 Remake, we maintained Full HD resolution and low graphics settings. The 2696 V3 achieved an average of 149 FPS, the 2640 V3 achieved 138 FPS, the 2666 V3 achieved 143 FPS, and the 2680 V4 achieved 140 FPS. The power consumption remained consistent, with the 2696 V3 and 2666 V3 consuming more power compared to the 2680 V4.

Spider-Man Remastered

For our final gaming test, we examined the performance of the processors in Spider-Man Remastered at Full HD resolution and low graphics settings. The 2696 V3 achieved 113 FPS, the 2640 V3 achieved 109 FPS, the 2666 V3 achieved 112 FPS, and the 2680 V4 achieved 112 FPS. It is worth mentioning that the 2696 V3 managed to reach its Boost clock speed of 3.8 GHz during this test. Once again, the power consumption pattern showcased higher consumption in the 2696 V3, while the 2680 V4 exhibited the lowest power consumption.

Verdict and Recommendations

Based on the gaming performance results, it is evident that all four processors showcased varying levels of performance. The 2696 V3 stood out as a powerful processor for work-related tasks due to its 18 physical cores and 36 Threads. However, it is crucial to pair this processor with a capable motherboard, such as the Mash Nich MR9. In terms of gaming performance, although the 2696 V3 demonstrated comparable results to the 2666 V3 and 2680 V4, it consumed nearly twice as much power. Therefore, the 2680 V4 stands out as the most cost-effective option among the V4 processors.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the X99 processors provide impressive performance for both work-related tasks and gaming. Each processor has its own unique capabilities, allowing users to select the best option based on their specific requirements. Whether you need a processor with high core count or prefer a more budget-friendly option, the X99 series offers a range of choices to suit your needs.
