Vocabulary Injection Strategy
Tokenizer Update
: new words are added to the existing tokenizer of SciBert
Embedding Initialization
: embeddings for newly introduced words are initialized as the average of the embeddings of their constituent existing words
Model Adaptation
After extending the vocabulary, two main strategies can be applied when performing NER with this model:
Option 1: Fine-Tuning (Recommended)
: the language model is fine-tuned on domain-specific corpora to better integrate the new vocabulary into its internal representations
Option 2: No Fine-Tuning
: the extended model is used directly without further training
Use in
This model is used to do NER experiments on (CPL-Corpus)[] and (CPL-Code)[].
