To enable AI notes in Microsoft Teams, follow these steps:
-
Ensure you have a Microsoft Teams Premium license, as AI notes are part of the Intelligent Recap feature available only in Teams Premium.
-
Schedule a meeting in Microsoft Teams.
-
Before the meeting starts, enable recording and transcription in the meeting options. Both recording and transcription must be turned on for AI notes to generate.
-
Conduct your meeting as usual. The meeting should last at least 5 minutes for AI notes to be generated.
-
After the meeting ends, go to the Recap tab in the meeting chat or calendar view.
-
Look for the "AI Notes" section in the Recap tab. This will contain automatically generated notes and suggested follow-up tasks.
Key points to remember:
- AI notes are only available for meetings that last longer than 5 minutes and are recorded and transcribed.
- The feature may not work for recurring meetings or meetings scheduled from a channel.
- AI notes are generated using GPT technology and may take a few minutes to appear after the meeting ends.
- If you don't see AI notes, make sure both recording and transcription were enabled for the meeting.
If you're still having issues seeing AI notes, it could be due to:
- The feature still rolling out to your organization
- A temporary glitch in the system
- Language limitations (AI notes are currently available in English, with more languages coming soon)
Remember that while AI notes can be helpful, they may not always be 100% accurate. It's a good practice to review and verify the information provided by the AI.
