Overview

Maintaining a consistent, expert presence on LinkedIn is crucial, especially in fast-moving sectors like AI, UCaaS, and CX. This sophisticated n8n workflow solves the problem of content fatigue by automating the generation, randomization, scheduling, and posting of thought leadership content. The key value is the 'human-in-the-loop' element: after the OpenAI n8n node generates content based on carefully crafted prompts, the draft is sent to Telegram for mandatory approval. This ensures that only high-quality, brand-safe posts are published. The workflow runs reliably via an n8n trigger on scheduled days, selects a random posting time, and waits until that exact moment to publish, creating a highly organic and effective posting pattern. This n8n workflow is a powerful tool for scaling professional social media influence.

How it Works

The entire process is initiated by the Schedule Trigger n8n node, set to run Monday through Thursday at 8 AM.

  1. Day Check: A Get Day n8n node calculates the current day in Central Time. The Check Day node stops the flow if it is Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

  2. Prompt Selection: The Prompts n8n node defines multiple, detailed prompts for the AI. The subsequent Random Prompt n8n node selects one of these six prompts to ensure content variety.

  3. Content Generation: The OpenAI Message n8n node uses the selected random prompt with a powerful model (GPT-4o) to generate a high-quality LinkedIn post focused on tech topics.

  4. Scheduling: The Random Time n8n node selects a randomized Central Time (09:00, 11:00, or 15:00) and calculates the precise UTC time string for scheduling.

  5. Human Approval: The draft is sent via the Send message and wait for response Telegram n8n node. This node pauses the n8n workflow until a user approves the content directly in Telegram. The Telegram Approved If n8n node checks the response.

  6. Wait and Publish: If approved, the Wait for Time Selected n8n node pauses the execution until the designated random post time is reached. Finally, the Create a post n8n node publishes the approved text directly to LinkedIn. A final Notify Post Active Telegram n8n node confirms the successful publication of the n8n workflow execution.

Installation Guide

To deploy this n8n template, follow these steps:

  1. Import the JSON: Copy the provided n8n workflow JSON and paste it into your n8n instance using the 'New' -> 'Import from JSON' function.

  2. Set up Credentials: You will need to configure three sets of credentials for the n8n node connections:

OpenAI API: Provide your API key to the OpenAI Message n8n node.
Telegram API: Configure your Telegram Bot token and necessary Chat IDs for both the 'Send message and wait for response' and 'Notify Post Active' Telegram n8n nodes.
* LinkedIn OAuth2 API: Authenticate your LinkedIn account to allow the Create a post n8n node to publish content on your behalf. (Note: Ensure you have selected the correct Person ID within the node parameters).

  1. Customize Prompts: Review the Prompts n8n node and customize the six defined prompts to match your specific brand voice and industry focus. This is key to effective AI generation in this n8n workflow.

  2. Activate: Once credentials are set and the nodes are configured, activate the n8n workflow. The primary n8n trigger is the schedule, but you can use the When clicking ‘Execute workflow’ manual n8n trigger to test the entire sequence.

Node Details

Schedule Trigger (n8n trigger): The primary n8n trigger, initiating the workflow automatically four days a week (Mon-Thurs) at 8:00 AM.
Get Day (Code n8n node): Custom JavaScript code that determines the current day in Central Time, critical for enforcing the Mon-Thurs posting rule.
Prompts (Set n8n node): Stores six high-quality, detailed prompts engineered specifically for LinkedIn thought leadership content in the tech sector.
Random Prompt (Code n8n node): Selects one of the six stored prompts randomly, feeding unique instructions to the AI on each run of the n8n workflow.
OpenAI Message (OpenAI n8n node): The core intelligence engine. It consumes the random prompt and generates the final post text. This n8n node is configured to use the high-performance chatgpt-4o-latest model.
Random Time (Code n8n node): Determines a random, organic posting time (e.g., 9 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM Central) and converts it to a standard UTC ISO string for the subsequent Wait n8n node.
Send message and wait for response (Telegram n8n node): Sends the generated content to a specified chat for manual review and approval, implementing the 'human-in-the-loop' check for the n8n workflow.
Wait for Time Selected (Wait n8n node): Pauses the n8n workflow execution until the randomly calculated UTC time is reached, ensuring timely and scheduled posting.

  • Create a post (LinkedIn n8n node): Publishes the text content to the user's personal LinkedIn profile, completing the automation cycle.
