Businesses operating in Europe requiring automated documentation.
Developers looking for advanced n8n templates integrating multiple APIs and AI agents.

Overview

Meeting modern digital accessibility standards, especially the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and WCAG 2.1, requires meticulous documentation. Manually compiling an Accessibility Statement based on technical scan results is time-consuming and prone to legal error. This advanced n8n workflow solves this by fully automating the process. This specific n8n workflow leverages the power of the WAVE accessibility API to scan a target URL and then feeds the complex issue data into a sophisticated AI agent powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro. The agent is strictly prompted to act as a legal-tech assistant, generating a formal, structured HTML statement, which is then delivered directly via email. This robust n8n node configuration ensures compliance documentation is accurate, current, and generated instantly.

How it Works

The entire process begins with the manual trigger n8n node, 'When clicking ‘Execute workflow’.' The first step is executing the 'CHANGE THESE: dependencies' Set n8n node, which defines all necessary input parameters, including the WAVE API key, the target URL, company details, and the desired output language.

  1. Data Acquisition: Two parallel HTTP Requests are initiated: one to 'Get Website HTML' and one to 'Get WAVE Report' (using the configured API key).

  2. Data Correlation: The 'Map WAVE Report Items to Website selectors.' custom code n8n node takes the WAVE JSON report and the raw HTML. It intelligently correlates the reported accessibility issues with the surrounding HTML context using Cheerio, providing the AI agent with highly specific, actionable data.

  3. AI Agent Execution: The data flows into the 'Accessibility Statement Generator' n8n agent node. This agent, configured with the 'gemini 2.5 pro' LLM, follows a stringent legal-tech prompt based on EAA requirements. It uses the input data to determine the conformance status (e.g., 'partially compliant') and summarizes non-accessible content categories.

  4. Structured Output: The AI output is passed through the 'Structured Output Parser' n8n node, which guarantees the statement is returned as a clean JSON object containing the raw HTML code.

  5. File Creation & Delivery: The 'Parse output as html' n8n node extracts the HTML string. The 'Create accessibility statement html file' n8n node converts this string into an attachable binary file. Finally, the generated statement is sent to the configured recipient via the 'Send accessibility statement by email' Gmail n8n node.

Installation Guide

To start using this powerful n8n workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Import: Copy the provided JSON code and import it directly into your n8n instance using the 'New' -> 'Import from JSON' feature.

  2. Dependencies Configuration (Set Node): Click the 'CHANGE THESE: dependencies' n8n node. Fill in all required fields:

waveapikey: Your API key obtained from WAVE.
URL to analyze: The website URL you need to scan.
Company Name and Country of the Company.

  1. Credentials Setup:

Gemini/Google AI: Click the 'gemini 2.5 pro' n8n node and connect your Google Gemini API credentials.
* Gmail: Click the 'Send accessibility statement by email' n8n node and set up or select your Gmail account credentials for sending the final report.

  1. Execution: Once all parameters are set, click the 'When clicking ‘Execute workflow’' n8n trigger and then click 'Execute Workflow' to run the analysis and generation process.

Node Details

When clicking ‘Execute workflow’ (Manual Trigger n8n node): This is the starting n8n trigger for the automation, allowing immediate execution of the n8n workflow.
CHANGE THESE: dependencies (Set n8n node): Central configuration point for all runtime variables like the website URL, company details, and API keys. This is crucial for every run of this n8n template.
Get WAVE Report (HTTP Request n8n node): Calls the WAVE API endpoint to retrieve a detailed JSON report of accessibility issues, which informs the AI.
Map WAVE Report Items to Website selectors. (Code n8n node): A custom JavaScript n8n node that uses the Cheerio library to cross-reference WAVE's selectors with the actual HTML content, providing necessary context for the AI agent.
Accessibility Statement Generator (Agent n8n node): The core intelligence of this n8n workflow. It uses a structured prompt defining its persona as a legal-tech expert to draft the compliant Accessibility Statement based on the data provided by the Code n8n node.
gemini 2.5 pro (LLM Chat n8n node): Connects the workflow to the powerful Gemini 2.5 Pro model, ensuring high-quality, legally nuanced text generation.
Structured Output Parser (Langchain n8n node): Enforces a specific JSON output structure from the AI, ensuring reliable extraction of the resulting HTML statement.
Create accesibility statement html file (Move Binary Data n8n node): Takes the raw HTML output and converts it into a downloadable/attachable HTML file, naming it dynamically based on the company name.

  • Send accessibility statement by email (Gmail n8n node): The final action, delivering the generated compliance document via email as an attachment.
