Overview

This robust automation addresses the challenge of reliably extracting data from complex e-commerce sites like Amazon, which often block or confuse standard scrapers. By leveraging the specialized Olostep API within this n8n workflow, users can initiate a search simply by providing a query. The n8n workflow handles pagination (up to 10 pages), executes the scrape, uses LLM extraction to guarantee structured JSON output, corrects relative URLs, validates the data, and stores the final product title and URL into an n8n data table or Google Sheet replacement. This powerful n8n automation eliminates manual copying and pasting and provides a scalable, API-driven solution.

How it Works

The process starts with an “On form submission” n8n trigger, where the user enters the Amazon search term.

  1. Initialization: The n8n workflow first generates a counter array for pages 1 through 10, setting up the pagination loop.

  2. Scraping Loop: The flow iterates through each page number. For every iteration, an HTTP Request n8n node calls the Olostep API, dynamically inserting both the user's search query and the current page number into the Amazon URL.

  3. Structured Extraction: Olostep executes the scrape and uses its built-in LLM to extract structured data—specifically the title and url for all products found on that search page.

  4. Data Preparation: The output is cleaned and split into individual product items using a subsequent n8n node.

  5. URL Validation and Correction: An If n8n node checks if the extracted URL is a full link. If it's a relative path (e.g., /product/details), the flow uses a Set n8n node to prepend the full https://www.amazon.com domain.

  6. Storage: The validated product data (title and full URL) is inserted as a new row into the designated n8n Data Table (or connected Google Sheet).

  7. Rate Management: A Wait n8n node pauses the execution briefly before the loop continues to the next page, ensuring that the Olostep API rate limits are respected, making this n8n workflow robust for heavy use.

Installation Guide

  1. Import the n8n workflow: Copy the provided JSON data and paste it into your n8n instance using the "Import Workflow" function.

  2. Set up Credentials:

Olostep API Key: Locate the "scrape amazon products" HTTP Request n8n node. Update the Authorization header parameter to include your personal Olostep Bearer token.
Data Table: Ensure you have an active n8n Data Table set up. In the "Insert row" n8n node, select or create a Data Table with columns named title and url. The current configuration targets a specific Data Table ID.

  1. Activate the Trigger: Activate the "On form submission" n8n trigger to generate the public webhook form URL.

  2. Testing: Submit a test query through the form to begin scraping. This powerful n8n template is now ready to run.

Node Details

On form submission (n8n trigger): The entry point for this n8n workflow. It collects the necessary input (search query) from a user-friendly form interface.
Edit Fields (Set n8n node): Sets up the pagination by initializing the counter variable with an array of page numbers (1 to 10).
scrape amazon products (HTTP Request n8n node): Executes the core scraping logic. It sends a POST request to the Olostep API, dynamically passing the search term and current page number. Key Configuration: Uses llm_extract with a schema defined for product title and url extraction.
parsedInfo (Set n8n node): Parses the raw JSON response from Olostep, using a string replace function to clean up escape characters (\/) received in the output, making the data consumable by subsequent n8n nodes.
Split Out (n8n node): Takes the resulting array of product objects and breaks them down into individual items, allowing each product to be processed and stored separately.
If (n8n node): A core logic flow control n8n node that checks if the extracted product url does not start with https://www.amazon.com. This directs relative URLs to the correction step.
Edit Fields1 (Set n8n node): Used when a relative URL is detected. It prepends the https://www.amazon.com domain to complete the product URL.
Insert row (Data Table n8n node): The final action n8n node, responsible for saving the cleaned title and url data into the configured Data Table.

  • Wait (n8n node): Introduces a delay after processing each batch of products, crucial for respecting the API usage limits required by the Olostep scraping service, ensuring the reliability of this n8n workflow.
