Overview

Managing content across multiple platforms can be time-consuming, especially when transforming long-form articles into engaging, platform-native formats like Bluesky threads. This advanced n8n workflow solves this problem by creating a fully automated content pipeline.

It listens for new articles from various RSS feeds (AI Trends, Tech Review) or immediate input via a Telegram n8n trigger. Once an article link is received, the n8n workflow uses the specialized JinaAI n8n node to reliably extract the clean, main content, bypassing ads and extraneous elements.

The extracted text is then fed into a Large Language Model (Google Gemini or OpenAI) which applies sophisticated prompting to restructure the information into a scroll-stopping, multi-post thread format. Finally, the n8n workflow uses conditional logic and looping (Split In Batches n8n node) to sequentially publish each segment of the thread on Bluesky, ensuring proper URI and CID linkage to maintain the thread structure. This complex n8n node configuration ensures a professional, high-quality final output.

How it Works

This comprehensive n8n workflow operates through several key stages, starting with ingestion and ending with sequenced social media publication.

  1. Triggering the n8n workflow: The process starts via one of four dedicated n8n trigger nodes: a manual Telegram Input Trigger, or automated hourly/daily checks on RSS Feeds (MIT Technology Review, Machine Learning Mastery, AI Trends).

  2. URL Preparation: The Prepare Input URL n8n node standardizes the URL input, whether it comes from the RSS item's link or the Telegram message text.

  3. Content Extraction: The Extract Web Content (JinaAI) n8n node fetches and cleans the article content from the prepared URL, providing structured data for the AI.

  4. AI Transformation: The clean content is passed to the Transform Content to Thread n8n node, which utilizes an AI model (linked to Google Gemini or OpenAI/GPT-4-mini) guided by a detailed prompt. This prompt mandates the output to be structured with [THREADSTART], -cutthread- separators, and [THREADEND] delimiters.

  5. Text Cleaning and Splitting: The output is cleaned by a Code n8n node (Clean Thread Text) that strips the delimiters and creates an array of individual posts. The Split Thread into Posts n8n node then separates these items for individual processing.

  6. Sequential Posting Logic: The Loop Through Thread Posts n8n node iterates over the split items. The Check First Post Condition n8n node determines the action based on the index:

First Post (Index 0): Uses the Create a post Bluesky n8n node. It waits 10 seconds (Wait Before Next Post (Initial) n8n node) and then uses the Store Post URI and CID n8n node to capture the necessary identifiers for replies.
Subsequent Posts (Index > 0): Uses the Reply with Next Post Bluesky n8n node, referencing the stored URI and CID to ensure the reply attaches correctly to the previous post, maintaining the thread integrity. A short wait time (Wait Before Next Reply n8n node) is included to respect platform rate limits.

Installation Guide

To deploy this powerful n8n workflow using these n8n templates, follow these steps:

  1. Import: Copy the provided JSON and import it directly into your n8n instance via the Workflows section (New -> Import from JSON).

  2. Credentials Setup: You must configure credentials for the connected services. Based on the n8n node details, you need:

Telegram API: Required for the manual n8n trigger input.
JinaAI API Key: Required for the content extraction n8n node.
Google Gemini or OpenAI API Key: Required for the large language model nodes (Gemini or Alt). Ensure one of these nodes is active and connected to the Transform Content to Thread node.
Bluesky API (App Password): Required for the social media posting n8n nodes.

  1. Activate Triggers: For the RSS feeds, ensure the n8n workflow is activated so the scheduled n8n trigger checks execute at the specified times. For the Telegram n8n trigger, ensure the webhook is properly configured to receive messages.

Node Details

  • Telegram Input Trigger / RSS Feed Read Trigger: These are the primary n8n trigger nodes, initiating the n8n workflow either manually via a Telegram message or automatically on a schedule based on new items in the specified feed URLs.

  • Extract Web Content (JinaAI n8n node): Function: Efficiently scrapes and cleans the primary content from the provided URL, preparing it for the AI summarization step.

  • Transform Content to Thread (LLM Chain n8n node): Function: Takes the cleaned article text and utilizes a detailed system prompt to transform the content into a series of short, engaging thread posts, separated by a custom delimiter (-cutthread-).

  • Clean Thread Text (Code n8n node): Function: A custom JavaScript n8n node responsible for parsing the AI's raw output. It identifies the [THREADSTART] and [THREADEND] markers and correctly splits the content based on the -cutthread- delimiter, producing a structured array of posts.

  • Split Thread into Posts / Loop Through Thread Posts (n8n node): Function: Manages the flow control, iterating over the array of individual posts created in the previous step to ensure they are processed sequentially.

  • Check First Post Condition (If n8n node): Function: A core flow control n8n node that distinguishes between the first post (which creates the initial thread) and subsequent posts (which reply to the previous post).

  • Create a post / Reply with Next Post (Bluesky n8n node): Function: These nodes handle the actual publication on Bluesky. The Reply n8n node uses dynamically retrieved uri and cid data to correctly link each post segment into a coherent thread.
