The automation begins with critical data validation, using a dedicated n8n node to verify the recipient's email domain before generating the certificate. A custom function generates a unique Certificate ID and a verifiable QR code. The certificate is then dynamically rendered into a high-quality PDF, uploaded to Google Drive for secure storage, and instantly delivered to the recipient via Gmail. Finally, every transaction is meticulously logged in a central Google Sheets document, providing a complete and immutable audit trail. This robust use of n8n ensures efficiency and compliance.

This powerful n8n workflow operates in three distinct stages: Validation, Generation, and Distribution.

1. Trigger & Initial Validation: The flow starts with a Webhook Trigger listening for a POST request containing required CEU data (name, email, course title, etc.). The subsequent If n8n node checks if all mandatory fields are present. If data is missing, the n8n workflow stops and returns an error.


2. Email Verification: The data passes to the Verifi Email n8n node, which ensures the provided email is deliverable and not from a disposable domain. A secondary If n8n node checks this verification status; failure routes to an error response.


3. ID and QR Generation: Upon successful verification, the Generate Certificate ID & QR Function n8n node executes. This custom script creates a unique Certificate ID and generates a corresponding verification URL, which is converted into a scannable QR code URL.


4. PDF Creation: The HTML to PDF n8n node uses the input data, Certificate ID, and QR code URL to dynamically render a professionally styled PDF certificate.


5. Storage and Download: The generated PDF URL is downloaded using an HTTP Request n8n node and then uploaded to Google Drive using the Upload to Google Drive n8n node for permanent record-keeping.


6. Delivery & Notification: The n8n workflow simultaneously uses the Send Email n8n node (Gmail) to deliver the personalized HTML email containing the certificate link to the recipient, and the Notify Organizers (Slack) n8n node to alert internal teams about the issuance.


7. Audit Logging: All certificate details, including the PDF and Verification URLs, are recorded in a central audit log via the Log to Google Sheets n8n node.
