This automation starts with an n8n trigger listening for new customer events. It uses an Odoo search n8n node to verify if the contact already exists based on the customer's email address. By incorporating a custom Code n8n node and a Filter, the n8n workflow intelligently determines whether a creation action is necessary, making this a smart and reliable integration among various n8n templates.

This automated n8n workflow executes the following steps:

1. Trigger on New Customer: The process begins with the Shopify Trigger n8n trigger, which activates immediately whenever a new customer creation event occurs in the connected Shopify store.


2. Odoo Lookup: The data is passed to the Search Odoo Contact n8n node. This Odoo n8n node attempts to find an existing partner record (res.partner) using the email address provided by the Shopify event.


3. Determine Existence: A custom Code n8n node evaluates the results of the Odoo search. It checks if an existing contact ID was returned. It packages this result into a boolean flag named existing.


4. Flow Control (Filtering): The subsequent Filter n8n node uses this existing flag to govern the flow. It directs the execution path based on whether the contact was found or not, ensuring that the next step only proceeds under the necessary conditions.


5. Create Contact in Odoo: If the flow proceeds (implying the contact meets the creation criteria based on the filter logic), the Create Contact Odoo n8n node takes the customer details (name, address, phone, email) from the original Shopify trigger payload and creates a brand new contact record in the Odoo ERP system. This completes the synchronization aspect of the n8n workflow.

To deploy this synchronization n8n workflow, follow these steps:

1. Import the n8n Workflow: Copy the provided JSON data and paste it into your n8n instance using the 'Import Workflow' function.


2. Shopify Credential Setup: You must configure the Shopify Trigger n8n node. Set up the required Shopify Access Token credentials, linking your n8n instance to your Shopify store. This creates the necessary webhook n8n trigger.


3. Odoo Credential Setup: Configure the API credentials for the two Odoo n8n node instances (Search Odoo Contact and Create Contact). These require standard Odoo API connectivity details (host, port, database, username/password).
