Who is this best for?

Sales Development Representatives (SDRs): Looking to rapidly build targeted lead lists.
Marketing Agencies: Needing fresh, categorized business contacts for campaigns.
Automation Enthusiasts: Seeking advanced examples of using the HTTP Request n8n node for third-party scraping services like Apify.
Small Business Owners: Who want to leverage powerful n8n templates to scale their cold outreach efforts without complex custom coding.

Overview

Lead generation is often a manual, time-consuming process. This efficient n8n workflow solves that problem by integrating best-in-class scraping (Apify) with structured data storage (Airtable) and personalized communication (Gmail).

This specific n8n workflow allows users to define a search query (e.g., 'training center near Amiens') and automatically execute the Apify scraper. The resulting data—including company names, emails, phones, and Google ratings—is then processed and stored in Airtable, ensuring a clean, centralized database. The final step of this n8n template is sending a dynamic, personalized email. By chaining these services together using the robust capabilities of the n8n platform, businesses gain a massive advantage in targeted B2B outreach.

How it Works

This powerful automation sequence starts with the manual n8n trigger node labeled GO.

  1. Scraping Initiation: The manual n8n trigger immediately activates the APIFY SCRAPT GOOGLE MAPS n8n node, configured as an HTTP Request. This node sends a POST request to the specified Apify API endpoint, initiating the Google Maps data scraping job based on predefined parameters (search query, location, max results).

  2. Wait and Retrieve: A Wait n8n node is executed to ensure the synchronous scraping process initiated by the HTTP Request has sufficient time to complete and return the full dataset.

  3. Data Cleaning and Mapping: The CLEAN DATA MAPPING n8n node (a Set node) takes the raw JSON output from Apify. It strategically transforms and maps the unstructured data fields (name, email, phone_number) into structured attributes compatible with Airtable columns (e.g., 'Société', 'Mail', 'Téléphone'). This critical step prepares the data for the next phase of the n8n workflow.

  4. Database Storage: The cleansed data is passed to the AIRTABLE CREATE RECORD n8n node. This node connects to the designated Airtable Base and Table, creating a new record for each lead scraped, complete with website links, social media handles, and Google review information.

  5. Automated Personalized Email: Finally, the SEND EMAIL AUTOMATIC Gmail n8n node uses the stored data fields (such as Company Name, City, and Email Address) to construct and send a highly personalized HTML cold email to the contact. This fully automated follow-up loop maximizes the value of the lead data captured by the n8n workflow.

Installation Guide

To implement this n8n workflow template, follow these steps:

  1. Import: Copy the provided JSON and import it into your n8n instance. This will set up all the necessary n8n nodes and connections.

  2. Apify Setup: Configure the APIFY SCRAPT GOOGLE MAPS HTTP Request n8n node. You must obtain your specific API URL from the Apify Console (for the 'Google Maps Email Leads Fast Scraper' actor) and paste it into the URL field. Update the JSON body with your desired search query and location.

  3. Airtable Credentials: Create an Airtable Personal Access Token with read/write access to your target Base. Configure the AIRTABLE CREATE RECORD n8n node with this credential and specify the exact Base and Table IDs where you want the leads stored.

  4. Gmail Credentials: Set up OAuth2 credentials for the SEND EMAIL AUTOMATIC Gmail n8n node. This allows the n8n workflow to send emails on your behalf. Customize the HTML email message template with your outreach pitch and Calendly link.

  5. Execution: Once credentials and parameters are set, you can run the n8n trigger (GO node) to execute the lead generation process.

Node Details

GO (Manual Trigger n8n trigger):
Function: Starts the n8n workflow manually. Essential for testing or when the run is not scheduled by a Cron n8n node.
Key Configuration: Standard manual n8n trigger configuration.
APIFY SCRAPT GOOGLE MAPS (HTTP Request n8n node):
Function: Sends a synchronous POST request to the Apify API to initiate and retrieve data from the Google Maps scraper.
Key Configuration: Method: POST. Body is JSON, defining search parameters like searchquery and maxresults.
Wait (Wait n8n node):
Function: Pauses the n8n workflow execution for a set duration (default is 10 seconds, but can be adjusted), ensuring the scraping service has returned data before proceeding.
CLEAN DATA MAPPING (Set n8n node):
Function: Transforms and renames the disparate data fields from the scraper into a standardized format (e.g., mapping $json.name to Société) for clean database integration.
AIRTABLE CREATE RECORD (Airtable n8n node):
Function: Connects to Airtable using a Personal Access Token and creates a new record for every lead item, mapping the cleaned fields into the appropriate columns.
Key Configuration: Operation: Create. Uses dynamic expressions (={{ $json.Mail }}) to map incoming data to Airtable fields.
SEND EMAIL AUTOMATIC (Gmail n8n node):
Function: Executes the personalized email outreach. It sends a rich HTML email to the scraped contact using data pulled directly from the previous steps, maximizing personalization.
Key Configuration: sendTo and subject are dynamically set using data expressions (e.g., ={{ $json.fields.Mail }}).
