Overview

Managing paid advertising budgets requires vigilance, especially when running multiple campaigns. Running out of budget mid-day can drastically hurt performance and cause missed revenue opportunities. This powerful n8n workflow solves this problem by providing automated, proactive monitoring of your Meta (Facebook) Ads account balance.

This robust n8n template utilizes the Schedule Trigger as the primary mechanism to run checks reliably every 12 hours. By connecting directly to the Facebook Graph API, the n8n node retrieves the current ad account balance and uses conditional logic to determine if the funds are critically low (in this case, below 400 units). If the condition is met, a notification is immediately dispatched via Telegram, ensuring you never suffer an unexpected budget depletion again. This specific n8n workflow guarantees real-time operational awareness.

How it Works

This automation operates on a simple, efficient loop:

  1. Scheduled Start: The process begins with the Every 12h n8n trigger, initiating the check twice daily.

  2. Retrieve Balance: The Method 1 n8n node, configured as a Facebook Graph API request, securely fetches the latest billing balance for the specified Meta Ad Account.

  3. Process Data: The Edit Fields n8n node extracts the balance information received from the API into an accessible variable for comparison.

  4. Conditional Check: The Lower than 400 ? n8n node acts as a critical decision point. It evaluates if the extracted balance is mathematically lower than the set threshold of 400.

  5. Alert or Continue:

If True (Low Balance): The flow proceeds to the Send message n8n node, which immediately dispatches a customized alert to a Telegram chat.
If False (Sufficient Balance): The workflow proceeds to the No Operation, do nothing n8n node and successfully ends, waiting for the next scheduled n8n trigger.

Installation Guide

To deploy this n8n workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Import: Copy the provided JSON code and paste it into your n8n instance using the 'New' button and 'Import from JSON'.

  2. Facebook Graph API Setup: You must configure credentials for the Method 1 n8n node. This requires a Facebook Developer App and permissions to access the relevant Ads Account data (specifically ads_read). Ensure your credential includes the necessary Account ID configured within the node's parameters.

  3. Telegram Setup: Configure credentials for the Send message n8n node. This involves creating a Telegram Bot (via BotFather) and obtaining the Bot Token and the specific Chat ID where you want to receive notifications.

  4. Threshold Adjustment: Review the configuration in the Lower than 400 ? n8n node. If your required minimum balance is different from 400, adjust the condition value accordingly.

  5. Activation: Once all credentials and configurations are set, activate the n8n workflow to enable the automated monitoring schedule.

Node Details

Every 12h (Schedule Trigger): The essential n8n trigger that dictates the running frequency. This node ensures the check happens automatically every 12 hours.
Method 1 (Facebook Graph API n8n node): Responsible for interfacing with Meta's advertising platform. Function: Retrieves the current billing status/balance of the specified Ad Account.
Edit Fields (Set n8n node): Function: Processes the API response and converts the balance data into a usable field for subsequent nodes.
Lower than 400 ? (If n8n node): Function: The conditional logic gate. Checks if the balance value extracted by the previous n8n node is less than 400. Key Configuration: Uses an expression to compare the extracted balance variable against the fixed value of 400.

  • Send message (Telegram n8n node): Function: Sends a proactive notification message to the configured Telegram chat when the low balance condition is met. Key Configuration: Requires Telegram Bot credentials and a valid Chat ID.
