Overview

This advanced n8n workflow transforms a standard Telegram chat into a powerful cryptocurrency data terminal. By leveraging the flexibility of the n8n node environment and LangChain integration, it orchestrates a Multi-Agent system powered by GPT-4o-mini. The primary challenge solved is giving users instant access to complex, real-time CoinMarketCap data—including price quotes, listings, DEX data, and global metrics—via a conversational interface. This comprehensive n8n workflow uses three specialized sub-agents (Crypto, Exchange, and DEXScan) to ensure accurate query routing, making it one of the most powerful n8n templates available for financial analysis. Every part of this solution relies on robust n8n node configurations, starting from the n8n trigger listening on Telegram.

How it Works

The process begins with the Telegram Input n8n trigger node, which activates the entire n8n workflow upon receiving a message.

  1. Trigger & Context: The Telegram n8n trigger captures the user message. A subsequent n8n node, Adds SessionId, extracts the unique chat ID to maintain conversation memory (sessionId) across executions.

  2. Coordination Agent (The Brain): The flow moves to the CoinMarketCap AI Data Analyst Agent (using GPT-4o-mini). This powerful n8n node acts as a router, configured with detailed instructions to decide which specialized sub-agent (Crypto, Exchange, or DEXScan) is best equipped to handle the user's query.

  3. Sub-Agent Tool Use: The Coordinator Agent utilizes three Tool Workflow n8n node instances. If the query is about core market data (e.g., price, conversion), it calls the CoinMarketCap Crypto Agent Tool.

  4. Nested Workflow Execution: This tool is itself a nested n8n workflow triggered by the When Executed by Another Workflow n8n trigger. This sub-agent, the CoinMarketCap Crypto Agent, analyzes the request and selects the correct CoinMarketCap API n8n node (e.g., CoinMarketCap Price, Crypto Listings, or Price Conversion).

  5. Final Response: The resulting data is processed by the AI Agent and passed back up to the coordinating n8n workflow, which uses the Telegram Send Message n8n node to deliver the structured analysis directly to the user.

Installation Guide

To set up this complex n8n workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Import the JSON: Copy the provided JSON data and import it directly into your n8n instance as a new n8n workflow.

  2. Telegram Credentials: Set up your Telegram Bot API credentials. This must be applied to the Telegram Input n8n trigger and the Telegram Send Message n8n node.

  3. OpenAI Credentials: Configure your OpenAI API Key for the two Agent Brain n8n node instances (CoinMarketCap Agent Brain and Crypto Agent Brain). Ensure the selected model (gpt-4o-mini) is available.

  4. CoinMarketCap Credentials: You will need a CoinMarketCap Professional API key. This key must be configured as a Generic HTTP Header Authentication credential and applied to all Tool HTTP Request n8n node instances (Crypto Map, Crypto Info, etc.). The key usually goes into a header named X-CMCPROAPI_KEY.

  5. Activate: Ensure both the parent workflow (if running separately) and the child workflow are activated to respond to the Telegram n8n trigger.

Node Details

Telegram Input
Function: Acts as the primary n8n trigger, listening for incoming messages from a configured Telegram bot.
Key Configuration: Triggers on message updates.

Adds SessionId (Set n8n node)
Function: Prepares the data payload by extracting the chat ID (message.chat.id) and assigning it as a sessionId, which is crucial for maintaining conversational history within the AI Memory n8n node.

CoinMarketCap AI Data Analyst Agent (LangChain Agent n8n node)
Function: The core coordinator. This n8n node routes queries to the most appropriate sub-agent based on the extensive system prompt detailing all available CoinMarketCap API tools (Crypto, Exchange, DEXScan).
Key Configuration: Uses gpt-4o-mini and is connected to CoinMarketCap Agent Brain and CoinMarketCap Memory.

Tool Workflow n8n node (e.g., CoinMarketCap Crypto Agent Tool)
Function: Allows the Coordinator Agent to use a completely separate n8n workflow as a specialized tool. It passes the user's query (message) and sessionId as inputs to the sub-workflow's n8n trigger.

When Executed by Another Workflow (n8n trigger)
Function: This acts as the n8n trigger for the sub-workflow, allowing it to be called programmatically by the main workflow. It accepts message and sessionId inputs.

CoinMarketCap Crypto Agent (LangChain Agent n8n node)
Function: A specialized agent within the sub-workflow focused purely on fundamental crypto data (prices, maps, listings). It leverages six dedicated HTTP Request n8n node instances.

CoinMarketCap Price (Tool HTTP Request n8n node)
Function: Executes a live API call to CoinMarketCap's /v2/cryptocurrency/quotes/latest endpoint to retrieve real-time price, volume, and market cap data, fulfilling a key part of the n8n workflow functionality.

Telegram Send Message
Function: The final action n8n node. It sends the formatted analysis output from the AI back to the user using the previously captured chatId.
