Overview

This n8n workflow provides an efficient, scalable solution for instant content localization. Manually translating content is often slow, expensive, and inconsistent. This n8n workflow solves this by utilizing the powerful linguistic capabilities of the OpenAI GPT-4o model. By configuring this n8n template, users can define an unlimited number of target languages. The resulting translated content is always formatted in clean Markdown and delivered in a structured JSON object, making it immediately ready for publishing via a CMS, internal database, or further automated processes using other n8n nodes. It’s a perfect example of how advanced AI agents can be built quickly within the n8n environment.

How it Works

The process begins with the manual n8n trigger, initiating the flow. Two parallel paths run immediately: the Enter Blog n8n node defines the source content (Title and Blog text), and the Set Languages n8n node defines the target language array (e.g., ["spanish", "french"]).

The Set Languages output is processed by the Split Out1 n8n node, which splits the array, creating separate data items for each language. These individual language items are then merged with the original blog content using the Combine with Languages n8n node, ensuring every item has the source text and one specific target language.

This combined data is fed into the Blog Translator LangChain Agent n8n node. This agent is configured with a system prompt that mandates accurate translation into the specified language and strict adherence to a Markdown output format. The agent leverages the OpenAI Chat Model4 n8n node (configured to use GPT-4o) and ensures reliable structure using the Structured Output Parser2. The flow iteratively translates the content for every language defined, completing the core task of this specialized n8n workflow.

Installation Guide

  1. Import the n8n workflow: Copy the provided JSON code and paste it into your n8n instance using the 'New' menu and selecting 'Import from JSON'.

  2. Set up OpenAI Credentials: The workflow requires an OpenAI credential resource. If you haven't set one up, click on the OpenAI Chat Model4 n8n node and create a new credential using your OpenAI API key.

  3. Check Billing: Ensure your OpenAI account has billing set up and sufficient funds, as GPT-4o usage incurs costs.

  4. Define Source Content: Open the Enter Blog n8n node and replace the placeholder text with your actual blog title and content.

  5. Customize Languages: Open the Set Languages n8n node and edit the array in the languages assignment to include all the desired target languages (e.g., ["portuguese", "italian", "japanese"]).

  6. Execution: Click 'Execute Workflow' to run the n8n trigger and generate the translations.

Node Details

When clicking ‘Execute workflow’ (Manual Trigger): Serves as the starting n8n trigger for testing and manual initiation of the translation process.
Enter Blog (Set Node): Defines the source input data (Title and Blog Content) that will be translated. Crucial for feeding the initial context into the n8n workflow.
Set Languages (Set Node): Holds the array of target languages. This configuration dictates how many translations the n8n workflow will generate.
Split Out1 (Split Out Node): Takes the array of languages from Set Languages and separates them into individual items, allowing the subsequent AI steps to run once per language.
Combine with Languages (Merge Node): This n8n node merges the source blog data with each individual language item generated by the split, ensuring the AI agent receives the full context and the specific language required for each translation task.
Blog Translator (LangChain Agent n8n node): The core intelligence unit. It uses a system message to instruct the LLM on translation style and output structure (Markdown format).
OpenAI Chat Model4 (LangChain LLM n8n node): Configured to use the high-performance gpt-4o model for translation quality. Requires an associated OpenAI credential in n8n.
Structured Output Parser2 (LangChain Output Parser n8n node): Enforces a strict JSON output structure (specifying "blog": "...markdown content..."), guaranteeing reliable data integrity for subsequent steps in the n8n workflow.
