What is 2Chat?

The 2Chat skill for Openclaw Skills provides a seamless bridge between your AI agent and the 2Chat live chat platform. It empowers developers to programmatically engage with website visitors, manage message threads, and handle user data without the complexity of manual authentication. By leveraging the Membrane CLI, this skill abstracts away the plumbing of OAuth and API key management, allowing your agent to focus on delivering intelligent support and engagement.

Built to be developer-friendly, this skill provides high-level actions for common tasks while maintaining a flexible proxy layer for direct API access. Whether you are building a support bot or a lead generation agent, this integration ensures secure, reliable, and efficient communication with the 2Chat ecosystem.

2Chat Use Cases

  • Automating real-time responses to website visitors based on specific triggers.
  • Managing and archiving customer conversations for support history.
  • Syncing user data from chat interactions into external databases or CRMs.
  • Scaling customer support operations by delegating repetitive messaging tasks to an AI agent.
  • Creating custom notifications or alerts based on incoming 2Chat message content.

How 2Chat Works

  1. The AI agent initializes the Membrane CLI and authenticates the specific agent type.
  2. A connection to the 2Chat platform is established or verified using a simple app URL.
  3. The agent polls the connection status until it reaches a READY state, handling any required user actions via provided URLs.
  4. Available actions are discovered using natural language intent searches to find the most efficient way to perform a task.
  5. The agent executes selected actions or sends raw proxy requests to the 2Chat API with automated header injection.
  6. Response data is parsed and utilized by the agent to complete the high-level workflow.

2Chat Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI globally to enable Openclaw Skills integration:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Authenticate your agent by specifying the agent type (e.g., openclaw):

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Ensure a connection to 2Chat is active:

membrane connection ensure "https://www.2chat.co/" --json

If the connection state is BUILDING, wait for it to become READY:

npx @membranehq/cli connection get <id> --wait --json

2Chat Data Schema & Taxonomy

The 2Chat skill organizes data around three primary entities. Interaction is facilitated through the Membrane API proxy which handles JSON payloads.

Entity Description
Conversation Represents a chat thread between a visitor and the platform.
Message Individual units of communication within a conversation.
User Metadata and identification for website visitors and support agents.

All actions return structured JSON objects containing id, name, description, and specific outputSchema fields for consistent data parsing.

2Chat Advanced Features

  • Natural Language Intent Search: Use the action list --intent command to find specific capabilities without browsing documentation.
  • Automated Credential Refresh: Membrane handles token expiration and rotation server-side, ensuring long-running automations never break.
  • Direct API Proxying: Perform complex tasks not covered by standard actions using the membrane request command with full HTTP method support.
  • Headless Environment Support: Simplified login flow for servers or remote environments via authorization codes.
  • Multi-Agent Adjustment: Tooling behavior can be adjusted by specifying different agent types during the login process.
