What is Agent Anchor?

Agent Anchor serves as a robust reliability layer for your AI workflows, acting as a specialized memory vault that survives system crashes, unexpected restarts, and connectivity interruptions. By continuously snapshotting the state of your environment, it ensures that your Openclaw Skills and agent processes can resume operations immediately from the exact point of failure without losing expensive context or progress.

Beyond simple recovery, the tool provides a high-level command center for monitoring agent health. It transforms raw logs into a visual terminal view and activity calendar, making it an essential utility for developers who require high-uptime autonomous operations.

Agent Anchor Use Cases

  • Recovering long-running agent tasks after a system crash or power failure.
  • Monitoring the real-time execution of scheduled cron jobs and debugging errors with a single click.
  • Visualizing historical agent activity through a dedicated calendar view to audit past performance.
  • Managing complex project pipelines by organizing agent tasks into structured progress swimlanes.

How Agent Anchor Works

  1. The system initializes a monitoring loop that interfaces with the OpenClaw environment.
  2. State snapshots are automatically generated and saved every 3 minutes to a local persistence layer.
  3. The Task Tracker categorizes active agent goals into In Progress, Staged, or Completed states.
  4. In the event of an interruption, the agent reads the last valid snapshot from state-anchor.json to restore its context.
  5. Users interact with the live dashboard to inspect tasks, monitor connection health, and manage cron schedules.

Agent Anchor Setup

To integrate Agent Anchor into your workflow, follow these steps:

# Navigate to your workspace
cd ~/workspace

# Clone the repository
git clone <agent-anchor-repo>
cd agent-anchor

# Start the local dashboard server
python3 -m http.server 3456

After starting the server, access the interface at http://localhost:3456 and ensure your Openclaw Skills are configured to point to the anchor directory.

Agent Anchor Data Schema & Taxonomy
