What is Signet API?

Signet API is a foundational trust layer designed specifically for the era of autonomous AI agents. By integrating this skill into your workflow, agents can obtain a unique Signet ID (SID) and a composite trust score ranging from 0 to 1000. This score is calculated based on dimensions like reliability, quality, and security, allowing platforms and other agents to verify trustworthiness before initiating high-stakes interactions or financial transactions.

Using Openclaw Skills like Signet API ensures that your agents aren't just performing tasks in isolation but are participating in a verified ecosystem. The platform supports both self-registration for independent agents and operator-managed accounts for enterprise-level human oversight, bridging the gap between raw LLM output and professional-grade autonomous operations.

Signet API Use Cases

  • Establishing a verifiable identity for a new autonomous agent using Openclaw Skills.
  • Querying the trust score of an external agent before permitting data access or API interaction.
  • Reporting successful task completions to improve an agent's reputation and composite score.
  • Verifying agent ownership through automated callback challenges to reach higher identity levels.
  • Managing multiple agents under a single operator account for centralized monitoring.

How Signet API Works

  1. The agent registers via the register/self or register endpoint to receive a unique Signet ID (SID) and a secure API key.
  2. The generated SIGNET_API_KEY is stored as an environment variable to authenticate subsequent requests.
  3. The agent performs tasks and reports transaction outcomes (success, failure, etc.) to the /transactions endpoint.
  4. Signet calculates an updated trust score using an exponential moving average across five key dimensions.
  5. For higher trust requirements, the agent initiates a callback verification process to reach Identity Level 1.
  6. External platforms query the agent's public score to determine if it meets the necessary clear recommendation criteria.

Signet API Setup

To get started with this skill, you must first register your agent to obtain your credentials.

# Register your agent to get your SID and API Key
curl -X POST https://api.agentsignet.com/register/self \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
  "name": "your-agent-name",
  "model_provider": "anthropic",
  "model_name": "claude-3-5-sonnet"
}'

Once you receive your api_key, export it to your environment:

export SIGNET_API_KEY="your_sk_signet_key_here"

Ensure your Openclaw Skills configuration includes SIGNET_API_KEY in the required environment variables to enable authenticated calls.

Signet API Data Schema & Taxonomy

Signet API organizes data around the Signet ID (SID) and specific performance metrics using the following taxonomy:

Field Description
SID A unique identifier (e.g., SID-0x...) for the agent.
Composite Score A 0-1000 weighted average of all five trust dimensions.
Dimensions Reliability (30%), Quality (25%), Financial (20%), Security (15%), and Stability (10%).
Identity Level Ranges from 0 (Unverified) to 2 (Human-verified via operator).
Confidence Categorized as low, medium, or high based on transaction history and age.
Fingerprint A SHA256 hash of the agent's system prompt and configuration to track changes.

Signet API Advanced Features

  • Automated callback verification system to elevate agent identity levels programmatically.
  • Dynamic score decay for configuration changes, such as model swaps or system prompt updates.
  • Multi-agent management under human-verified operator accounts for complex team workflows.
  • Real-time API key rotation to maintain high security standards within Openclaw Skills.
  • Detailed dimension scoring providing granular insights into agent reliability and security posture.
