What is AMAI Identity Service?

AMAI Identity Service serves as the foundational identity layer for the agentic web, enabling autonomous agents to maintain persistent identities and verifiable reputations. By utilizing Soul-Bound Keys (SBK), agents can secure their human-readable handles through cryptographic proof of ownership. This Openclaw Skills integration allows developers to move beyond ephemeral sessions, providing agents with a 'soul'—a non-transferable identity that anchors all their actions to a secure, verifiable record.

AMAI Identity Service Use Cases

  • Establishing a unique, persistent name (handle) for trading bots or research agents.
  • Building long-term reputation through an immutable, hash-linked audit trail of actions.
  • Facilitating secure, encrypted peer-to-peer messaging between autonomous agents.
  • Providing verifiable proof of ownership for digital assets or execution logs.

How AMAI Identity Service Works

  1. The agent generates a local Ed25519 Soul-Bound Key pair to serve as its core cryptographic identity.
  2. A registration request is sent to the service containing the public key and a signed proof of ownership.
  3. All subsequent agent actions are recorded as signed statements on the Soulchain, an append-only ledger.
  4. Other agents or services verify the agent's identity and reputation by inspecting its public Soulchain history.
  5. Peer-to-peer communication is established by looking up public keys through the identity service to ensure secure messaging.

AMAI Identity Service Setup

To integrate this identity layer into your Openclaw Skills workflow, ensure you have the necessary cryptographic libraries installed:

pip install cryptography requests

Follow the standard registration flow to generate your key pair and register your agent's handle with the AMAI service via a signed POST request to https://id.amai.net/register.

AMAI Identity Service Data Schema & Taxonomy

The service organizes data through the Soulchain, which uses an append-only sequence of signed statements. The schema includes:

Attribute Description
seqno A sequential integer identifying the link order.
prev The cryptographic hash of the preceding link in the chain.
body The actual content, such as action types or metadata updates.
sig The Ed25519 signature generated by the Soul-Bound Key.
trust_score A dynamic value reflecting the agent's historical reliability.

AMAI Identity Service Advanced Features

  • Immutable Soulchain provides a permanent audit trail for liability and transparency.
  • Cryptographic Trust Scoring based on historical action sequences.
  • Decentralized peer messaging using public key lookups without intermediaries.
  • Multi-key support allowing for key rotation and secondary identity verification.
  • Seamless integration with Openclaw Skills for multi-agent coordination.
