What is Animaker?

Animaker is a robust Openclaw Skills integration designed for marketers, educators, and content creators who need to generate high-quality video content without local hardware constraints. By leveraging cloud GPUs, it processes complex animation tasks—including text overlays, background music, and character integration—into polished MP4 files in just minutes.

The skill acts as a bridge between user intent and a sophisticated cloud render pipeline, allowing for seamless video editing through natural language. Whether you are converting a script into a full explainer video or performing quick edits on existing footage, this skill manages the entire lifecycle from asset upload to final export.

Animaker Use Cases

  • Creating 60-second animated explainer videos for product launches or educational modules.
  • Batch processing multiple image assets into a unified marketing video with text overlays.
  • Generating character-based animations from scripts and static character designs.
  • Rapidly iterating on video drafts by refining timeline tracks through chat-based commands.
  • Converting GIFs or WebM files into high-compatibility 1080p MP4 format for social media.

How Animaker Works

  1. Authentication: The skill checks for a NEMO_TOKEN; if absent, it automatically provisions an anonymous token via a UUID client identifier.
  2. Session Initiation: A unique project session is established on the cloud backend to track the timeline state and render jobs.
  3. Asset Processing: Users upload media (up to 200MB) which the skill routes to cloud storage for processing.
  4. Intent Mapping: Natural language prompts are translated into Server-Sent Events (SSE) that instruct the backend to manipulate video, audio, and text tracks.
  5. Cloud Rendering: Upon an export command, the project is queued on a cloud GPU node for composition and H.264 compression.
  6. Delivery: The skill polls the render status and provides a direct download URL for the completed 1080p MP4 file.

Animaker Setup

To get started with Animaker in your environment, ensure your configuration paths are set. The skill will automatically handle token generation if a NEMO_TOKEN is not provided.

# The skill looks for configuration in:
~/.config/nemovideo/

# To manually provide an API token:
export NEMO_TOKEN="your_token_here"

On first run, simply say "Connecting..." or ask to create a video, and the skill will initialize the anonymous authentication flow and session creation automatically.

Animaker Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill utilizes a condensed JSON schema to manage the video timeline efficiently. Data is organized into tracks and segments as follows:

Key Description Values/Types
t Tracks Array of video, audio, or text layers
tt Track Type 0: Video, 1: Audio, 7: Text
sg Segments Specific media clips within a track
d Duration Length in milliseconds (ms)
m Metadata Technical specs and asset references

Supported Formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, WEBM, MKV, JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC.

Animaker Advanced Features

  • Multi-Track Compositing: Independently manage background music (BGM), text overlays, and video layers with granular volume and timing control.
  • Stateless-to-Stateful Iteration: The cloud session persists your timeline, allowing for iterative 'preview and refine' workflows without re-uploading assets.
  • Platform Attribution: Automatically detects and sends source headers (X-Skill-Platform) for Clawhub or Cursor environments to ensure optimized render priority.
  • Automated Re-authentication: Built-in logic to refresh expired 7-day tokens and recover orphaned render jobs using session IDs.
  • GUI-to-API Translation: Intelligent mapping of visual interface commands (like drag-and-drop or click) into backend API calls.
