What is ARKCloud IPFS?

ARKCloud IPFS is a powerful integration designed to connect AI coding agents with decentralized storage infrastructure. By leveraging ARKCloud's token-protected upload API on file.arklink.hk, this tool allows developers to seamlessly upload files, publish directories, and retrieve IPFS Content Identifiers (CIDs) directly within their automated development workflows. Instead of directly interacting with raw IPFS nodes or configuring complicated Kubo APIs, developers can rely on this skill to handle decentralized file lifecycle operations efficiently.

This integration is particularly valuable for teams building with AI agents who require an automated, low-overhead method to publish build artifacts, images, and data reports to decentralized networks. It handles authentication gracefully via bearer tokens and provides precise insights into credit usage, duplicate upload detection, and resource management, positioning it as an essential addition to Openclaw Skills setups.

ARKCloud IPFS Use Cases

  • Decentralized Asset Publishing: Automatically uploading static frontend builds, images, or documents to IPFS directly from your terminal or AI-driven workflows.
  • AI Generated Output Storage: Saving generated code bases, PDF reports, or multimedia files output by AI agents onto persistent decentralized storage.
  • Resource Management & Audit: Querying, listing, and tracking the transaction and credit history of past IPFS uploads.
  • Safe File Deletion: Removing or unpublishing older uploads securely using session-based verification mechanisms.

How ARKCloud IPFS Works

  1. Triggering the Command: The user or AI agent initiates a file or folder upload using local Python scripts provided by the skill.
  2. Authentication Check: The script validates your local ARKCLOUD_UPLOAD_TOKEN or active client session cookie prior to initiating communication.
  3. API Upload Execution: Files are sent via secure HTTPS POST requests to POST /api/upload, bypassing raw IPFS node exposure to protect security.
  4. Metadata Processing: ARKCloud parses the file, deduplicates it if it was previously uploaded, generates a unique CID, and charges the appropriate credit amount.
  5. Response Delivery: The AI agent parses the raw JSON response containing the CID, access URL, file size, and credit status, and displays it directly to the user in a structured format.

ARKCloud IPFS Setup

Installation

To install this skill using Openclaw Skills CLI utilities, execute one of the following commands in your terminal:

# Standard OpenClaw install
/skill install djanngau/arkcloud-ipfs-skill#skills/arkcloud-ipfs

# CowAgent install
cow skill install djanngau/arkcloud-ipfs-skill#skills/arkcloud-ipfs

Configuration

Set up the following environment variables in your local environment or AI runtime configuration:

export ARKCLOUD_UPLOAD_TOKEN="your-bearer-token-here"
export ARKCLOUD_BASE_URL="https://file.arklink.hk" # Optional, defaults to file.arklink.hk
export ARKCLOUD_CLIENT_COOKIE="your-session-cookie" # Optional, required for directory/folder uploads
export ARKCLOUD_CSRF_TOKEN="your-csrf-token" # Optional, required for folder uploads and deletions

ARKCloud IPFS Data Schema & Taxonomy

When executing a file upload, the ARKCloud IPFS skill processes and returns structured JSON responses. Below is the metadata taxonomy used by this integration:

Property Type Description
cid String The unique IPFS Content Identifier of the uploaded resource.
filename String The name of the file processed.
bytes Integer The physical size of the file in bytes.
url String The direct URL to access the uploaded asset.
short_url String A shortened version of the access link.
credits_charged Integer The amount of credits deducted for the upload (will be 0 if duplicate is detected).
credits_remaining Integer The remaining credit balance on your ARKCloud account.
duplicate Boolean Returns true if the file already exists on ARKCloud, meaning no credits were charged.

ARKCloud IPFS Advanced Features

  • Duplicate Detection & Zero-Credit Deductions: Intelligent duplicate checks query whether a file already exists on the network, preventing unnecessary credit expenses by returning pre-existing CIDs.
  • Session-Protected Folder Uploading: Support for multi-file folder uploads using authenticated CSRF-protected browser cookies rather than basic API keys.
  • Automated Health Monitoring: A dedicated CLI diagnostic command (arkcloud_health.py) allows AI workflows to evaluate gateway status before launching lengthy processing pipelines.
  • Destructive Action Guards: Interactive confirmation prompts safeguard against accidental deletions when managing or unpublishing items on the ARKCloud catalog.
