What is Bravado?

Bravado is a production workflow for creating short product films, launch intros, explainers, motion resumes, and brand-film sound design. It inspects the source material and its visual presentation, develops a sourced creative brief and seven-scene storyboard, then renders and checks an MP4 alongside an editable project.

Among Openclaw Skills, Bravado stands out for grounding its creative decisions in evidence: it distinguishes shipped features from roadmap items, avoids invented metrics, and calls out inaccessible source material. The result is a product-specific film rather than a relabeled template.

Bravado Use Cases

  • Create a launch intro or animated product story from a public product website.
  • Turn a GitHub repository and its deployed project into a concise explainer film.
  • Build a role-relevant motion resume or portfolio film while protecting personal contact details.
  • Adapt a reference video's motion grammar without copying its footage or soundtrack.
  • Produce synchronized sound design that aligns audio cues with visible actions.
  • Deliver an editable project and MP4 for review, revision, or future reuse.

How Bravado Works

  1. Inspect the supplied website, repository, resume, portfolio, or reference video; record the source URL and access date where applicable.
  2. Establish the product's current behavior, audience, brand assets, key message, CTA, and evidence for claims; note any access gaps.
  3. Write a sourced visual brief, then create a seven-scene arc and frame-level beat sheet with one idea per scene.
  4. Bootstrap the renderer and adapt a JSON project brief and rendering logic to the actual product.
  5. Validate the brief, render stills, and review the storyboard and transition-boundary frames; refine typography, pacing, layout, illustration, and motion.
  6. Render the full MP4, listen to and inspect the export, and run the export verifier to check that video and audio decode through the end.
  7. Deliver the MP4 and editable project with a summary of creative choices and remaining uncertainties.

Bravado Setup

Bootstrap a project in an absolute output directory, then install the template fonts from inside the copied directory. The bootstrap script copies the renderer, sample brief, and dependencies from assets/starter.

python scripts/bootstrap.py /absolute/output/directory
cd /absolute/output/directory
python setup_fonts.py

Create a project JSON brief based on projects/cadence.json, adapting both its data and the renderer for the target product. Validate and render stills before producing the final video:

python render.py --brief projects/your-project.json --validate-only
python render.py --brief projects/your-project.json --out output --stills

After rendering the full MP4, verify the export and inspect it manually:

python verify_export.py output/your-film.mp4

Alternatively, use an existing Bravado repository checkout. Follow the workflow and quality-bar references included with the skill.

Bravado Data Schema & Taxonomy

Bravado uses a project-specific JSON brief based on projects/cadence.json; the skill does not specify a universal field-by-field schema. Adapt the brief and render.py to the product's data and diagrams rather than simply renaming Cadence labels.

Artifact Purpose
Source URL and access date Track the material used for research, when a URL is supplied.
Visual brief and beat sheet Capture sourced facts, creative direction, and the seven-scene narrative.
Project JSON brief Provide project-specific content and inputs to the renderer.
output/review/storyboard.jpg Review the rendered storyboard as a whole.
boundary-*.jpg frames Inspect frames around transitions for visual continuity and timing.
MP4 and editable project Deliver the finished film and materials for further editing.

Keep claims and metrics traceable to evidence. Label illustrative numbers clearly and calculate them using consistent units.

Bravado Advanced Features

  • Evidence-aware research distinguishes current product behavior from roadmap plans and identifies gaps caused by private or blocked sources.
  • Product-specific renderer adaptation supports replacing the Cadence payroll visuals and data logic with suitable diagrams for another product.
  • Still-first review includes storyboard and transition-boundary frame inspection before the full render.
  • Export verification checks the export contract and decodes both audio and video through the end; it does not replace creative or sound-quality review.
  • Reference-video analysis can inform motion grammar while avoiding copied footage and soundtracks.
  • The workflow delivers editable source alongside the MP4 and includes a quality gate for typography, diagrams, choreography, and original sound.
