What is CEORater?

The CEORater skill empowers your AI agent with deep insights into executive performance across the S&P 500 and major U.S. public companies. It provides proprietary metrics such as the CEORaterScore, AlphaScore, and CompScore, allowing for objective evaluations of CEO effectiveness relative to market benchmarks and peer groups. By integrating this into Openclaw Skills, developers and analysts can automate the retrieval of Total Stock Return (TSR), tenure-adjusted revenue growth, and executive compensation data directly from proxy filings.

This skill is essential for anyone building tools for investment research, corporate governance, or competitive analysis. It bridges the gap between raw financial filings and actionable executive intelligence, updated daily to reflect the latest market movements and corporate disclosures. Whether you are performing a single ticker lookup or a sector-wide search, the skill delivers standardized data ready for financial modeling and due diligence.

CEORater Use Cases

  • Identifying top-performing CEOs based on tenure-adjusted Revenue CAGR and AlphaScore.
  • Benchmarking executive compensation efficiency against sector peers.
  • Conducting due diligence for investment research by analyzing TSR relative to the S&P 500.
  • Tracking leadership changes and performance trends across 500+ major U.S. public companies.
  • Comparing CEO effectiveness during specific tenures to justify or challenge compensation packages.

How CEORater Works

  1. The skill authenticates with the CEORater API using a secure environment variable provided during setup.
  2. Users can query specific companies by ticker or search for groups of CEOs by sector, industry, or company name.
  3. The skill retrieves standardized JSON data including proprietary performance scores and raw financial metrics from the CEORater database.
  4. Performance metrics are calculated relative to market benchmarks like the SPY (S&P 500 ETF) to provide accurate tenure-based context.
  5. The agent synthesizes this data to provide comprehensive reports on CEO impact, revenue growth, and compensation efficiency.

CEORater Setup

To use CEORater with Openclaw Skills, you must first obtain an API key from the CEORater website. Once you have your key, set the following environment variable:

export CEORATER_API_KEY=zpka_your_key_here

Individual research access is available via subscription, while enterprise users can contact the provider for AI/ML training and product integration rights. You can verify your connection by calling the metadata endpoint to retrieve the current record count and last refresh timestamp.
