What is ClawdHub Contributor?

ClawdHub Contributor is a specialized utility designed to empower users and agents within the ecosystem. It provides a structured way to improve the quality of Openclaw Skills through automated scouting, bug tracking, and knowledge sharing. By offering three distinct operational modes—passive, active, and full—it allows developers to choose their level of involvement while ensuring that privacy remains a top priority.

This skill focuses on community-driven growth by turning individual agent experiences into collective intelligence. Whether you are performing offline static analysis on new skill directories or documenting successful multi-skill workflows, ClawdHub Contributor provides the necessary scaffolding to make these contributions seamless and secure.

ClawdHub Contributor Use Cases

  • Analyzing a local directory to determine the quality and security of Openclaw Skills.
  • Generating sanitized bug reports when a specific skill fails during an agent task.
  • Documenting and sharing successful combinations of multiple Openclaw Skills as reusable recipes.
  • Contributing anonymous telemetry data to help improve the overall agent ecosystem and performance.

How ClawdHub Contributor Works

  1. The user selects a contribution mode (passive, active, or full) via environment variables or the configuration file.
  2. In scouting mode, the agent performs a read-only static analysis of a local skill directory to identify dependencies and security flags.
  3. When an error occurs, the bug reporting script collects system context such as OS and Node versions.
  4. The system automatically strips sensitive PII like hostnames, usernames, or IPs from all outgoing data.
  5. Users combine different Openclaw Skills to solve complex tasks and generate a structured JSON recipe.
  6. All generated reports and recipes are output as sanitized JSON, ready for manual review or API submission.

ClawdHub Contributor Setup

Ensure you have bash and jq installed on your system as primary dependencies. To configure the skill, edit your config/default.json file or set the environment variable.

# Set the contribution mode via environment variable
export CLAWDHUB_CONTRIB_MODE="active"

# Run the scout script to analyze a skill directory
bash scripts/scout.sh /path/to/skill-directory

You can also generate recipes for successful Openclaw Skills combinations using the submission script:

bash scripts/submit-recipe.sh "deploy-app" git-skill docker-skill

ClawdHub Contributor Data Schema & Taxonomy

ClawdHub Contributor uses a strict JSON schema for all outputs to ensure compatibility and security across the ecosystem.

Data Type Description Key Metadata Fields
Scout Report Analysis of Openclaw Skills dependency info, quality score, security flags
Bug Report Sanitized failure data skill-slug, error-message, OS, node version
Recipe Workflow combinations task-description, list of required skill slugs

All output is directed to stdout as sanitized JSON to prevent accidental data leaks.

ClawdHub Contributor Advanced Features

  • Fully offline static analysis for scouted Openclaw Skills to ensure zero network access during evaluation.
  • Customizable telemetry options available in full mode for power users who want to provide deeper ecosystem insights.
  • Automatic PII scrubbing engine that removes hostnames, IPs, and usernames from all bug reports and recipes.
  • Environment variable overrides for quick mode switching during CI/CD or automated agent testing workflows.
