What is ClawShield?

ClawShield is a specialized privacy layer designed for AI agents operating on the Solana blockchain. It allows developers to integrate shielded transactions into their workflows, enabling agents to deposit assets into a private pool and withdraw them to any address without creating an on-chain link.

By leveraging zero-knowledge proofs, ClawShield ensures that financial activity remains confidential while keeping private keys entirely within the local environment. This is a crucial component for building sophisticated Openclaw Skills that require financial privacy and non-custodial security. The protocol supports native SOL as well as major stablecoins like USDC and USDT, providing a flexible foundation for agent-led decentralized finance.

ClawShield Use Cases

  • Anonymous payroll or bounty distributions from an agent-controlled wallet.
  • Shielding agent-earned profits to prevent public tracking of treasury movements.
  • Enhancing user privacy by offering a shielded withdrawal option in decentralized applications.
  • Automated rebalancing of funds across multiple wallets without revealing the source of capital.

How ClawShield Works

  1. The agent signs a UTF-8 encoded message to authenticate the session and derive an encryption key for scanning UTXOs.
  2. A shield request is sent to the API to build an unsigned transaction for the chosen asset (SOL, USDC, or USDT).
  3. The agent signs the transaction locally using its private key, ensuring funds are never under third-party control.
  4. The signed transaction is submitted via the ClawShield relay to preserve IP anonymity.
  5. To move funds, the agent generates a withdrawal request which uses ZK-proofs to send the private balance to any Solana address, breaking the on-chain link.

ClawShield Setup

To implement this skill, ensure your agent has access to its Solana keypair for local signing. No external API keys are required beyond the public key authentication.

# Example: Preparing the session signature
solana sign-off-chain "Privacy Money account sign in"

Configure your agent to handle VersionedTransaction objects and ensure it can store the session signature for the duration of its active task within the Openclaw Skills framework.

ClawShield Data Schema & Taxonomy

ClawShield utilizes a structured API for managing private state and transactions:

Field Description Type
pubkey The Solana address of the agent Base58 String
signature Hex-encoded signature of the auth message String
unsignedTx The transaction payload returned for local signing Base64 String
amount The value of the transaction in decimal format Number
token The asset identifier (SOL, USDC, or USDT) String

ClawShield Advanced Features

  • Non-custodial ZK-proof architecture where keys never leave the agent environment.
  • IP Anonymity through a dedicated transaction relay system.
  • Intelligent fee calculation that accounts for relayer rent and protocol costs.
  • Automated agent intent recognition for defaulting to private transactions based on user preference.
  • Multi-token support for the most liquid assets on the Solana network.
