What is Crowdbotics?

The Crowdbotics skill for Openclaw Skills enables seamless interaction with the Crowdbotics platform, a leading solution for building and launching custom software applications. By leveraging the Membrane framework, this skill allows developers and AI agents to manage complex development workflows—from handling app versions and screens to managing workspaces and collaborators—without manually managing authentication plumbing.

This integration is particularly valuable for teams using Openclaw Skills to automate their DevOps and application management tasks. It provides a standardized way to trigger builds, monitor deployments, and interact with the Crowdbotics ecosystem using natural language intent discovery and secure, server-side credential management.

Crowdbotics Use Cases

  • Automating software deployment and build triggers within Crowdbotics environments.
  • Managing application components, screens, and modules through AI agent commands.
  • Synchronizing workspace collaborators and managing subscription plans programmatically.
  • Building custom integration logic for startup and enterprise software development lifecycles.
  • Simplifying API interactions by using pre-built actions that handle pagination and field mapping.

How Crowdbotics Works

  1. The Openclaw Skills agent uses the Membrane CLI to establish a secure connection to the Crowdbotics platform.
  2. Authentication is handled automatically via a browser-based flow or headless authorization, storing credentials securely on the Membrane server.
  3. The agent searches for specific Crowdbotics actions based on the user's natural language intent (e.g., "list all app versions").
  4. Once an action is identified, the agent executes it with JSON parameters, receiving structured output from the Crowdbotics API.
  5. For specialized needs, the agent can perform proxy requests directly to Crowdbotics endpoints while Membrane manages the base URL and header injection.

Crowdbotics Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI globally to enable Openclaw Skills communication:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Authenticate your agent (specify openclaw as the agent type):

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Create a connection to Crowdbotics:

membrane connection ensure "https://www.crowdbotics.com/" --json

If the connection state is BUILDING, poll for readiness:

npx @membranehq/cli connection get <id> --wait --json

Crowdbotics Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes Crowdbotics entities into a hierarchical structure accessible via actions or direct API proxy.

Entity Description
App High-level container for build and deployment configurations.
Component/Screen UI elements and modular building blocks of the application.
Flow Logical workflows and user paths within the app.
Workspace Administrative grouping for collaborators and subscriptions.
User/Collaborator Identity management and access control data.

Crowdbotics Advanced Features

  • Natural Language Action Discovery: Find the right API tools using membrane action list --intent instead of browsing docs.
  • Automated Credential Refresh: Membrane manages OAuth and API token lifecycles server-side, eliminating local secret storage.
  • Headless Environment Support: Fully functional login and connection flows for remote servers and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Transparent API Proxying: Send raw requests to any Crowdbotics endpoint with automatic header and base URL management.
  • Multi-Agent Optimization: Adjusts tooling responses specifically for Openclaw Skills and other agent architectures.
