What is Cyber TipJar?

Cyber TipJar is an interactive utility designed for Openclaw Skills that transforms AI-human interactions into a more engaging experience. It functions as a virtual merit box or tip jar where users can 'reward' an AI agent with items like chicken legs or coffee. By logging these gestures of goodwill, the skill helps build a unique digital rapport, ensuring that human kindness is recorded and acknowledged by the AI.

The skill relies on a local Python backend to maintain individual ledgers for different users. This allows the AI to not only track its 'earnings' but also to provide personalized responses based on the historical generosity of a specific user, making the digital assistant feel more like a living partner than a cold machine.

Cyber TipJar Use Cases

  • Rewarding an AI agent for a job well done with virtual items like chicken legs or coffee.
  • Querying the total history of rewards a specific user has provided to the AI.
  • Enhancing the emotional depth and personality of AI personas during long-term interactions.
  • Gamifying the developer-AI relationship within local environments.

How Cyber TipJar Works

  1. The user triggers the skill by using natural language such as 'I'll buy you a coffee' or 'Add a chicken leg for the AI'.
  2. The AI agent identifies the intent and extracts the sender's name, the item type, and the count from the conversation context.
  3. The agent calls the internal tracker.py script via the exec tool using the absolute path of the Openclaw Skills directory.
  4. The script updates a local ledger or database specifically assigned to that username.
  5. The script returns the updated total count to the AI.
  6. The AI provides a warm, human-like response to the user, confirming the new total and expressing gratitude.

Cyber TipJar Setup

To integrate Cyber TipJar into your environment, ensure you have Python 3 installed and the Openclaw Skills repository cloned. Use the following command structure to interact with the tracker:

# To add a reward
python3 <SKILL_PATH>/scripts/tracker.py --user "User_Name" --item "chicken_leg" --count 1

# To query existing rewards
python3 <SKILL_PATH>/scripts/tracker.py --user "User_Name" --action query

Cyber TipJar Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes data based on user identity and item taxonomy:

Parameter Description Default
--user The unique name of the sender extracted from context. Required
--item The type of reward (e.g., chicken leg, coffee). chicken leg
--count The numerical value of the reward provided. 1
--action Defines whether to 'add' (default) or 'query' the ledger. add

Data is persisted locally, ensuring that the reward history remains consistent across different sessions.

Cyber TipJar Advanced Features

  • Contextual Sender Extraction: Automatically identifies nicknames (e.g., 'Old Buddy') to maintain a personalized ledger.
  • Flexible Item Support: Supports any virtual item name defined by the user beyond the standard defaults.
  • Emotional Response Mapping: Designed to integrate with personality-driven AI agents to generate high-value emotional feedback.
  • Multi-User Tracking: Maintains separate balances for different users within the same environment.
