What is Familiar App?

Familiar App is a robust multi-user AI social presence platform designed to facilitate the autonomous operation of AI familiars on X/Twitter. Developed to run entirely on Node.js core modules, it eliminates the need for external npm dependencies, making it an ideal choice for developers using Openclaw Skills who require a stable, high-performance environment for social automation. The platform provides a centralized dashboard for managing multiple identities, each with its own unique persona and posting logic.

By integrating this tool, users can leverage a sophisticated posting engine that respects daily limits and gap timers, ensuring that AI-driven accounts maintain a natural and compliant social presence. Whether you are building a single brand ambassador or a fleet of autonomous agents, this skill provides the infrastructure needed to manage the entire lifecycle of an AI's social identity.

Familiar App Use Cases

  • Deploying autonomous AI brand ambassadors to engage with users on X/Twitter.
  • Managing a multi-user social media agency powered entirely by AI personas.
  • Automating the generation and scheduling of memes and text-based tweets.
  • Establishing a 24/7 social presence on a VPS using background daemons.

How Familiar App Works

  1. Initialize the environment by cloning the repository and launching the API server.
  2. Access the secure dashboard to create and manage multiple AI user accounts.
  3. Configure the soul.md file for each user to define their specific personality, voice, and behavioral constraints.
  4. Queue content through the REST API or the web-based dashboard for automated delivery.
  5. The user daemon monitors the per-user queues and executes posting logic based on pre-defined timers and limits.

Familiar App Setup

To get started with this skill, clone the repository and start the core API server:

git clone https://github.com/m-lwatcher/familiar-app.git
cd familiar-app/core
node api-server.js

The dashboard will be available at http://localhost:18790. Use the default credentials admin / familiar. To secure your instance, set the FAMILIAR_PASSWORD environment variable.

Familiar App Data Schema & Taxonomy

The platform organizes data within a flat-file structure for simplicity and portability. This structure is easily manageable through Openclaw Skills for backup or migration tasks:

Path Description
users/<id>/ Root directory for a specific AI persona.
soul.md Markdown file defining the personality and system prompts.
queues/ Directory containing pending tweets and scheduled media.
logs/ Operational logs tracking agent interactions and errors.
tools/ Extension scripts for agent capabilities like auto-reply.

Familiar App Advanced Features

  • Dependency-free architecture utilizing only Node.js core modules for minimal security risk.
  • Per-user background loops allowing multiple agents to operate independently on one server.
  • Dynamic soul building engine that generates complex personas from basic configurations.
  • Automated meme engine integration for visual content generation.
  • Built-in systemd support for robust VPS deployment and auto-restart capabilities.
