What is Feishu Bot?

The Feishu Bot skill provides a robust bridge between your AI agents and the Feishu (Lark) ecosystem. It enables seamless automation of corporate communications, allowing agents to send rich text messages, manage collaborative groups, and trigger organizational approval processes directly through the Feishu Open Platform API. By using this Openclaw Skills integration, developers can build responsive bots that handle internal operations with minimal friction.

This skill is designed for developers who need to integrate AI-driven decision-making into their company's existing communication channels. Whether it is notifying a team of a critical update or initiating a formal request, this tool handles the heavy lifting of API authentication and message formatting.

Feishu Bot Use Cases

  • Automated status notifications for project teams via text or interactive rich card messages.
  • Dynamic group creation and member management based on specific project lifecycle events or triggers.
  • Triggering and tracking administrative approvals directly from an AI agent workflow to streamline operations.
  • Sending essential files, images, and documentation to specific users or group chats automatically.

How Feishu Bot Works

  1. The skill authenticates with the Feishu Open Platform using the provided App ID and App Secret credentials.
  2. It acquires necessary tenant tokens to interact with specific modules including IM, Contact, and Approval APIs.
  3. Users or agents invoke high-level methods such as send_text or create_approval through the Openclaw Skills interface.
  4. The skill packages the request according to Feishu's strict JSON protocol and executes the action on the platform.
  5. The agent receives structured feedback, such as chat IDs or approval instance statuses, to facilitate subsequent logic.

Feishu Bot Setup

  1. Create a Feishu App at the Feishu Open Platform (https://open.feishu.cn/app).
  2. Retrieve your App ID and App Secret from the application dashboard.
  3. Enable required permissions: im:message, im:message:send_as_bot, contact:user.base:readonly, im:chat, and approval:approval.
  4. Configure your environment variables in your terminal:
export FEISHU_APP_ID="cli_your_app_id"
export FEISHU_APP_SECRET="your_secret_here"
  1. Alternatively, enter these credentials within your primary Openclaw Skills configuration settings file.
