What is Feishu Task Workbench?

The Feishu Task Workbench is a powerful Openclaw Skills implementation designed to transform a single chat interface into a multi-threaded productivity hub. It allows developers and teams to handle multiple work streams simultaneously by routing each task to an independent session background while maintaining a clean, unified command entry point in Feishu.

By utilizing a dedicated task registry, the skill ensures that task states, histories, and summaries are preserved and isolated. This prevents context mixing and allows users to jump between different projects—such as weekly reports, coding bugs, or research—without losing progress or cluttering the primary conversation flow.

Feishu Task Workbench Use Cases

  • Managing multiple concurrent development tasks within a single Feishu chat interface.
  • Isolating context for different projects to prevent LLM hallucination or data leakage between tasks.
  • Generating structured task summaries and status reports for team synchronization.
  • Archiving completed work streams while maintaining a searchable registry of historical sessions.

How Feishu Task Workbench Works

  1. The user issues a command such as 'new task' or 'switch to #id' which triggers the Openclaw Skills logic.
  2. The system performs a mandatory capability check to ensure session tools (spawn, send, history) are available.
  3. For new tasks, a unique session is spawned using sessions_spawn and registered in a persistent JSON file.
  4. All subsequent non-global messages are routed to the currently active task session via sessions_send.
  5. The workbench manages task transitions (switching, closing, archiving) by updating the task_registry.py pointer.
  6. Task-specific responses are prefixed with a header (e.g., [Task:#2]) to provide visual confirmation of the active context.

Feishu Task Workbench Setup

To enable the Feishu Task Workbench, ensure your Openclaw environment is configured with the necessary session tools.

First, initialize your task registry:

python3 scripts/task_registry.py --registry tasks/feishu/<account>/<peer>.json init

Ensure your config.json includes the following permissions:

{
  "tools": {
    "agentToAgent": { "enabled": true },
    "sessions": { "visibility": "all" }
  },
  "agents": {
    "list": [
      {
        "id": "main",
        "tools": {
          "allow": [
            "sessions_spawn",
            "sessions_send",
            "sessions_history",
            "sessions_list"
          ]
        }
      }
    ]
  }
}

Feishu Task Workbench Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill maintains strict isolation using a directory-based registry strategy. Openclaw Skills data is organized as follows:

Path Component Description
tasks/feishu/ Root directory for Feishu-specific task data.
<account>/ Scoped by the current Feishu account ID.
<peer>.json A unique registry file for each user interaction (e.g., ou_xxx.json).

Each JSON registry tracks the sessionKey, status (active, in_progress, closed, archived), and a generated summary for every task ID.

Feishu Task Workbench Advanced Features

  • Context-Aware Routing: Automatically directs inputs to the active task without requiring manual session IDs for every message.
  • Cross-Platform Isolation: Ensures Feishu and WeChat registries remain strictly independent to prevent data collisions.
  • Session Resurrection: Use the 'continue' command to pick up exactly where a specific task session left off.
  • Automated Summarization: Leverages sessions_history to generate progress reports including 'In Progress', 'Outputs', and 'Next Steps'.
