What is Granola?

Granola serves as the essential AI notepad for professionals managing back-to-back schedules, and this Openclaw Skills integration unlocks that data for programmatic use. It allows users to transform their captured meeting intelligence into actionable context for AI agents, ensuring that every decision and discussion is searchable and accessible within a broader technical ecosystem.

By utilizing this skill, you can bypass manual note retrieval and instead leverage automated scripts to parse historical data or fetch live shared summaries. Whether you are building a personal knowledge base or an automated research assistant, this tool ensures your meeting history is a core part of your Openclaw Skills toolkit.

Granola Use Cases

  • Search through months of archived meeting notes via CSV exports to find specific project decisions.
  • Automatically fetch and process content from shared Granola URLs for instant team updates.
  • Extract action items from past 1:1s to populate task management systems using Openclaw Skills scripts.
  • Provide AI agents with the necessary context from previous board meetings to prepare for upcoming strategy sessions.

How Granola Works

  1. The skill interfaces with Granola's CSV export system to ingest historical meeting data.
  2. A specialized Python parser reads the exported file and indexes the content for local search capabilities.
  3. For real-time data, the skill utilizes a fetching script that extracts text directly from Granola's public sharing URLs.
  4. All processed meeting data is formatted to be consumed by AI agents through standard Openclaw Skills patterns.
  5. Future-proof logic is included to support the upcoming Model Context Protocol (MCP) for direct, real-time API access.

Granola Setup

To get started with Granola and Openclaw Skills, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Granola app and navigate to Settings → Profile.
  2. Click Generate CSV (Note: the file will be sent to your email).
  3. Once downloaded, import the file using the provided script:
python3 scripts/csv_import.py --file ~/Downloads/granola_export.csv
  1. To fetch a specific shared note, use the fetch script:
python3 scripts/fetch_shared.py --url "https://share.granola.ai/your-note-link"

Granola Data Schema & Taxonomy

Data Type Source Description
CSV Metadata Granola Export Contains meeting titles, timestamps, and note summaries older than 30 days.
Shared Content Public URL Fetches the full text and structured sections from a shared Granola link.
Search Index Local Script A processed map of keywords to meeting entries for efficient Openclaw Skills retrieval.

Granola Advanced Features

  • Advanced keyword search within massive CSV exports for high-speed information retrieval.
  • Preparation for upcoming MCP (Model Context Protocol) support for native AI agent connectivity.
  • Multi-agent compatibility, allowing different AI personalities to access the same Openclaw Skills data source.
  • Automated script hooks to trigger workflows when a new shared note URL is detected.
