What is HelpNinja?

HelpNinja is a robust help desk and knowledge base platform designed to assist small and medium-sized businesses in managing customer support inquiries and self-service resources. By leveraging Openclaw Skills, developers can bridge their AI agents directly with HelpNinja to streamline communication and improve support efficiency. This skill empowers agents to interact with tickets, users, and company records without the complexity of manual API integration.

This integration utilizes the Membrane framework to provide a secure and scalable way to handle customer data. By using Openclaw Skills for HelpNinja, you eliminate the need to manage raw authentication tokens locally, as the system handles credential lifecycle and refreshing automatically, allowing for more reliable support automations.

HelpNinja Use Cases

  • Automatically triaging and responding to incoming support tickets.
  • Synchronizing customer and company records between HelpNinja and other CRM tools.
  • Fetching knowledge base articles to provide AI-driven self-service answers.
  • Updating ticket statuses or assigning users based on real-time agent analysis.

How HelpNinja Works

  1. The AI agent utilizes the Membrane CLI to interface with the HelpNinja platform.
  2. A connection is established by ensuring the HelpNinja domain is authorized, creating a secure link between the agent and the support data.
  3. The agent searches for specific actions based on the user's intent, such as querying tickets or updating company info.
  4. Actions are executed through the Openclaw Skills interface, which handles the underlying JSON schema mapping and error handling.
  5. If a pre-built action isn't available, the agent can use a proxy request to interact directly with any HelpNinja API endpoint while maintaining secure auth headers.

HelpNinja Setup

To initiate the HelpNinja integration for your AI agent, first install the necessary CLI tool:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Next, authenticate your environment. This step ensures that your Openclaw Skills have the necessary permissions to manage connections:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Connect to the HelpNinja service by providing the application URL:

membrane connection ensure "https://helpninja.com/" --json

Once the connection state is READY, you can begin querying and running actions.

HelpNinja Data Schema & Taxonomy

The HelpNinja skill organizes its data taxonomy around the core components of the help desk experience. Openclaw Skills provides a structured way to interact with these entities:

Entity Data Type Description
Ticket Object Contains support request details, customer links, and status.
Customer Object Individual profiles for support requesters.
User Object System users or agents managing the help desk.
Company Object Organizational profiles associated with multiple customers.

All metadata and action schemas are discoverable via the CLI, providing inputSchema for parameters and outputSchema for response parsing.

HelpNinja Advanced Features

  • Built-in authentication lifecycle management including transparent credential refresh.
  • Natural language intent discovery to dynamically find the best actions for a given task.
  • Support for headless environments with manual authorization code completion.
  • Full API proxying capabilities for reaching specialized HelpNinja endpoints.
  • Long-polling support via the wait flag to ensure connections are stable before execution within Openclaw Skills workflows.
