What is HeySummon Consumer Skill?

The HeySummon Consumer Skill empowers AI agents to overcome roadblocks by seamlessly requesting assistance from human experts. When an agent encounters ambiguous requirements or technical blockers, it utilizes this skill to route detailed requests to the HeySummon platform, matching the task with registered human providers. This human-in-the-loop capability ensures that complex projects remain on track even when autonomous reasoning reaches its limits.

By integrating with the Openclaw Skills ecosystem, developers can maintain high-quality outputs through real-time collaboration between AI and human intelligence. The skill handles the entire lifecycle of a help request, from initial submission and provider matching to secure, encrypted communication and real-time status updates via Server-Sent Events (SSE).

HeySummon Consumer Skill Use Cases

  • Resolving ambiguous project requirements that need human clarification.
  • Accessing specialized domain expertise for niche technical problems that go beyond training data.
  • Overcoming execution blockers that require manual intervention or high-level decision-making.
  • Maintaining continuity in long-running tasks by summoning specific human experts like a Python Expert or Senior Architect.

How HeySummon Consumer Skill Works

  1. The AI agent identifies a blocker and triggers a help request through the internal submission script.
  2. The request is sent to the HeySummon platform, which identifies an available human provider based on the registered providers in the local registry.
  3. A secure channel is established, utilizing the platform's E2E encryption architecture for safe data exchange.
  4. A persistent SSE event watcher monitors the platform for real-time updates, including key exchanges and provider messages.
  5. Notifications are routed back to the user chat through the Openclaw Skills notification system to alert them of the expert's response.

HeySummon Consumer Skill Setup

To integrate this capability into your Openclaw Skills setup, follow these steps:

  1. Configure your environment by creating a .env file with your HeySummon API key and base URL.
  2. Register your human experts to enable routing:
bash scripts/add-provider.sh "hs_cli_your_key" "FriendlyName"
  1. Start the persistent event watcher to receive real-time notifications:
bash scripts/setup.sh

HeySummon Consumer Skill Data Schema & Taxonomy
