What is HokiPoki?

HokiPoki is a powerful peer-to-peer networking tool designed to help developers hop between various AI models like Claude, Codex, and Gemini without switching context or tabs. By integrating this capability into Openclaw Skills, users can request help from different models when one gets stuck, ensuring higher quality code generation and problem-solving through second opinions. The tool focuses on privacy and security, as API keys never leave the provider's machine; instead, only encrypted requests and results are exchanged across the network.

HokiPoki Use Cases

  • Switching to a different AI model when the current one provides unsatisfactory results.
  • Sharing premium AI subscriptions with teammates through a secure P2P workspace.
  • Requesting security reviews or code refactors from specialized models like Codex or Gemini.
  • Automating patch applications across large directories using remote AI resources.

How HokiPoki Works

  1. The user initiates a request specifying the desired AI tool and the task context via the CLI.
  2. HokiPoki routes the encrypted request through its P2P network to a registered provider.
  3. The provider machine executes the task within an isolated, read-only Docker container to ensure security.
  4. The resulting code patch or response is sent back to the requester and automatically applied to their local git repository.

HokiPoki Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill manages requests and configurations using the following schema:

Component Description
Tool Selection Specifies the target AI (claude, codex, gemini)
Context Scope Defines the range of files or directories sent (using --files, --dir, or --all)
Workspace Identifies the P2P team network for routing
Output Format Uses --json to ensure results are parseable by other Openclaw Skills

HokiPoki Advanced Features

  • Provider Mode: Register your local environment to serve AI requests for your team.
  • Docker Isolation: Ensures all remote tasks run in a safe, auto-cleaning temporary environment.
  • Git-Aware Auto-Apply: Automatically detects git repositories to apply patches safely as new commits.
  • Dashboard Integration: Access a web-based UI for managing history, workspaces, and account status.
