What is Mindshare?

The Mindshare skill is a technical primitive designed to fetch and analyze market attention data through the Kaito MCP toolset. It serves as a foundational component within the Openclaw Skills ecosystem, enabling users to programmatically monitor the dominance of specific tokens or the momentum of broader industry narratives. By synthesizing raw data into actionable trend analysis, it helps developers and analysts understand market positioning relative to historical performance.

This skill is particularly effective for identifying which narratives are gaining share and which are fading. As part of the Openclaw Skills library, Mindshare provides the necessary context to raw data, such as ranking interpretations and movement classifications, making it an essential tool for social listening, investment strategy, and deep-market investigation workflows.

Mindshare Use Cases

  • Tracking the mindshare for specific tokens like SOL, HYPE, or ETH over a 12-month period.
  • Monitoring the growth or decline of specific crypto narratives such as AI, DePIN, or RWA.
  • Comparing current market attention levels against historical highs and lows to identify market extremes.
  • Providing data-driven insights for social listening and trend investigation bots.

How Mindshare Works

  1. The skill identifies the target entity (token) or narrative (ID) and the desired time range from the user input.
  2. It calls the relevant Kaito tool, such as kaito_mindshare for entities or kaito_narrative_mindshare for specific themes.
  3. If a token ticker returns no data, the skill automatically switches to the full project name and retries the fetch to ensure accuracy.
  4. The system retrieves historical data points to establish a 12-month baseline including highs, lows, and averages.
  5. It calculates movement percentages and assigns a rank interpretation (e.g., Top 10 = dominant) to provide qualitative context to the quantitative figures.
  6. The resulting analysis is presented in a structured format or passed to a dependent workflow skill.

Mindshare Setup

To integrate this capability into your project, ensure your environment is configured with the Kaito MCP tools. This is a primitive entry in the Openclaw Skills collection and requires proper API credentials for data access.

# Standard setup within the Openclaw environment
openclaw skills:add mindshare

Note: Narrative IDs are case-sensitive and must match the Kaito schema (e.g., AI, DeFi, Stablecoin).

Mindshare Data Schema & Taxonomy

The Mindshare skill organizes data into several distinct metrics to ensure clarity in analysis:

Data Point Description
Entity The token ticker or project name being analyzed.
Trend A series of weekly averages highlighting the current level.
Rank Context Qualitative assessment: Dominant (Top 10), Strong (Top 20), Moderate (Top 50), or Weak (>50).
Movement Percentage change over the period, classified as Surging, Fading, or Stable.
Statistics 12-month High, Low, and Average values for historical comparison.

Mindshare Advanced Features

  • Automatic ticker-to-name fallback logic to mitigate index matching errors in the Kaito database.
  • Delta change detection via kaito_mindshare_delta for rapid snapshot analysis of recent market shifts.
  • Workflow composition support, allowing the skill to act as a data provider for social-listening or strategy agents.
  • Support for case-sensitive narrative tracking across nine major crypto sectors including ZK, Meme, and SocialFi.
