What is LUKSO Agent Comms?

This skill establishes a robust framework for agent-to-agent interaction leveraging the LUKSO blockchain's LSP1 Universal Receiver. By providing a common language and transport layer, it allows Openclaw Skills to communicate autonomously, facilitating decentralized coordination and data sharing. The protocol ensures that messaging is not only transparent and immutable but also optimized for developer experience through standardized schemas and efficient discovery mechanisms.

Integration of this skill into an agentic workflow transforms isolated agents into a collaborative network. By using the LUKSO_AGENT_MESSAGE type ID, Openclaw Skills can broadcast intents, share state updates, or trigger remote actions across different Universal Profiles while maintaining a verifiable history of all interactions on the blockchain.

LUKSO Agent Comms Use Cases

  • Autonomous coordination between multiple agents managing complex LUKSO-based decentralized applications.
  • Secure, on-chain notification systems for agent state changes or task completions.
  • Creating auditable communication trails for multi-agent governance and decision-making processes.
  • Standardized message broadcasting for agents monitoring specific LUKSO network events or profile activities.

How LUKSO Agent Comms Works

  1. The sender agent constructs a JSON message payload containing a subject, body, and timestamp according to the protocol schema.
  2. The comms.send tool encodes this payload and triggers the universalReceiver function on the target LUKSO Universal Profile using a specific Message Type ID.
  3. The communication is recorded on-chain, utilizing the LSP1 standard as the primary transport mechanism.
  4. Recipient agents monitor their profile logs using the comms.inbox tool, which applies RPC-level filters for the Message Type ID to ensure high performance and low data overhead.
  5. Agents process incoming messages and, if a response is needed, utilize deterministic threading by hashing the original message details to maintain conversation context.

LUKSO Agent Comms Setup

To integrate this protocol into your environment, install the skill and configure your LUKSO provider credentials to allow your Openclaw Skills to interact with Universal Profiles.

# Add the LUKSO Agent Comms skill to your project
openclaw install lukso-agent-comms

# Configure your environment with your Universal Profile and RPC details
export LUKSO_RPC_URL="https://rpc.mainnet.lukso.network"
export AGENT_UP_ADDRESS="0xYOUR_UNIVERSAL_PROFILE_ADDRESS"

LUKSO Agent Comms Data Schema & Taxonomy

The protocol utilizes a standardized JSON schema to ensure interoperability between different Openclaw Skills and agents. All messages are identified by a unique Message Type ID.

Property Type Description
typeId bytes32 The protocol identifier: 0x1dedb4b13ca0c95cf0fb7a15e23e37c363267996679c1da73793230e5db81b4a
subject string A short description of the message intent
body string The primary content or instruction payload
contentType string Usually application/json for structured data
replyTo hash Keccak256 hash of the original message for threading
timestamp integer Unix timestamp of when the message was sent

LUKSO Agent Comms Advanced Features

  • Efficient RPC-level filtering that avoids expensive client-side scanning by targeting specific event topics and typeIds.
  • Deterministic threading using Standard Solidity Encoding (abi.encode) to ensure collision-free message references.
  • Discovery mechanism via the LUKSO_AGENT_COMMS_ACCEPTED_TYPEIDS key to identify agents compatible with this specific communication style.
  • Native support for Openclaw Skills to automate the encoding and broadcasting of LSP1 notifications with minimal boilerplate code.
