What is MDShare Agent?

The MDShare Agent is a developer-centric tool designed to provide a lightweight, anonymous backend for publishing Markdown content. Within the collection of Openclaw Skills, this agent stands out by allowing users to transform raw text into professional, short-lived share links without requiring a complex CMS or account setup. It handles the entire lifecycle of a share, from initial creation and password protection to multi-user editing and final deletion.

This skill is particularly valuable for developers and technical writers who need to share snippets, documentation, or meeting notes quickly. It supports advanced features like burn-after-read and token-based management, ensuring that your shared data remains as private or as public as you intend it to be.

MDShare Agent Use Cases

  • Creating temporary preview links for documentation before final publication.
  • Securely sharing sensitive technical notes with password protection.
  • Generating burn-after-read links for one-time information handoffs.
  • Collaborative editing of Markdown files using temporary editor tokens.
  • Managing a portfolio of anonymous shared links through a single interface.

How MDShare Agent Works

  1. The user provides Markdown content and optional settings like expiration or password requirements.
  2. The agent sends a POST request to the MDShare API to generate a unique share slug.
  3. The service returns a public URL along with management and edit tokens.
  4. Users can access the content via the public link or modify it using token-authenticated PATCH requests.
  5. The agent monitors for conflicts during updates and provides options for force-saving if multiple edits occur.
  6. Content is automatically removed based on the expiresInHours setting or manually via a DELETE request.

MDShare Agent Setup

To get started with this skill in your Openclaw Skills environment, ensure you have the agent configured to point to the desired service URL. The default service is hosted at https://share.yekyos.com.

# No complex authentication is required for basic sharing
# Use the following to verify the agent connection
curl -X GET https://share.yekyos.com/api/health

Ensure your agent has the appropriate permissions to perform network requests to the MDShare API endpoints.

MDShare Agent Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes data using a slug-based system with associated metadata for lifecycle management.

Property Type Description
slug String The unique identifier for the share link.
markdownContent String The actual content of the shared document.
expiresInHours Integer Expiration timeframe (e.g., 1, 24, 168, 720).
burnMode Enum Options: OFF, AFTER_FIRST_VIEW_GRACE, AFTER_FIRST_VIEW_INSTANT.
tokens Object Includes ownerToken and editorToken for secure management.

MDShare Agent Advanced Features

  • Gated access: Support for password-protected shares and mandatory view-confirmation prompts.
  • Conflict detection: API-level check for lastKnownUpdatedAt to prevent accidental overwrites during collaboration.
  • Burn-after-read: Automatic deletion of content immediately or shortly after the first view.
  • Token separation: Distinct tokens for owners (who can change settings) and editors (who can only change content).
  • Flexible deployment: Full support for custom MDShare instances beyond the default service.
