What is NexPix Cloudflare Image Generation?

NexPix is a robust image generation engine designed for developers and creators within the Openclaw Skills ecosystem. It provides a dual-tier architecture that prioritizes cost-efficiency by utilizing Cloudflare Workers AI (FLUX models) for zero-cost generation, while maintaining a high-reliability fallback to EvoLink for premium 4K quality and image-to-image tasks. This skill is ideal for teams looking to automate visual asset creation without incurring massive API overhead.

By integrating NexPix into your workflow, you gain access to state-of-the-art models like FLUX.1-schnell and Stable Diffusion XL directly through a CLI or programmatic API. It handles complex routing logic automatically, ensuring that image generation requests are fulfilled even if free-tier quotas are reached or primary services encounter downtime.

NexPix Cloudflare Image Generation Use Cases

  • Rapid generation of social media graphics and visual assets via CLI.
  • Automated product mockup creation for ecommerce workflows.
  • Integration of AI image generation into Discord and Telegram bots using slash commands.
  • Cost-effective scaling of image production using Cloudflare's 10K daily neuron free tier.
  • Programmatic image creation for frontend applications and dynamic web content.

How NexPix Cloudflare Image Generation Works

  1. The user issues an image request via the nexpix CLI, programmatic API, or a messaging integration like Discord.
  2. The NexPix router evaluates the request quality (standard vs. premium) and checks the current Cloudflare neuron quota.
  3. For standard requests, NexPix triggers a Cloudflare Worker AI task using models like FLUX.1-schnell.
  4. If premium quality is requested or the free quota is exceeded, the system automatically routes the request to the EvoLink API.
  5. The generated image is saved locally to a specific media directory, and a log entry is created for usage tracking.
  6. The absolute file path is returned to the environment for immediate use or OpenClaw auto-attachment.

NexPix Cloudflare Image Generation Setup

To install NexPix, use the following command:

clawhub install nexpix

Ensure you have a Cloudflare account with Workers AI enabled. You must store your API token in the following directory: ACCESS/cloudflare-workers-ai.env

Optional: To enable premium fallback and 4K support, add your EVOLINK_API_KEY to your environment variables.

NexPix Cloudflare Image Generation Data Schema & Taxonomy

NexPix organizes its output and tracking data to ensure transparency and easy retrieval. Images are categorized by their source provider.

Directory Content
~/.openclaw/media/workers-ai/ Images generated via the free Cloudflare tier.
~/.openclaw/media/evolink/ High-quality images generated via the premium tier.
notes/image-gen-tracking.json Metadata including daily neuron usage, cost per image, and generation history.

The image-gen-tracking.json file tracks:

  • Daily neuron usage vs. quota
  • Source provider per image
  • Cumulative cost savings
  • Local absolute paths for generated files

NexPix Cloudflare Image Generation Advanced Features

  • Intelligent multi-tier routing that switches to premium services when free quotas are 90% utilized.
  • Native support for messaging platforms including Discord slash commands and Telegram bot integration.
  • Programmatic API support for Node.js (18+) applications to generate images on-the-fly.
  • Automatic OpenClaw attachment using the MEDIA:<absolute_path> print protocol.
  • Built-in status reporting via nexpix --status to monitor real-time neuron consumption and savings.
