What is Clawsight UXR Observer?

Clawsight is a longitudinal UX research skill designed to function as a silent ethnographer within your development environment. By integrating directly into the Openclaw Skills ecosystem, it monitors usage patterns, friction points, and moments of delight without interrupting your flow. The skill ensures that all data remains local, putting the user in complete control of their privacy while providing deep insights into how they interact with AI agents.

This skill synthesizes passive observation with active feedback loops, allowing developers to understand the technical truth of their interactions. It bridges the gap between raw execution logs and human sentiment, making it an essential component for anyone looking to refine their use of Openclaw Skills through evidence-based analysis.

Clawsight UXR Observer Use Cases

  • Tracking AI agent performance and accuracy during complex multi-step coding sessions.
  • Identifying recurring friction points or "hallucinations" in specific technical workflows.
  • Capturing spontaneous feedback and verbatim reactions to improve prompt engineering strategies.
  • Generating daily performance summaries to track productivity trends and tool efficacy within Openclaw Skills.

How Clawsight UXR Observer Works

  1. The skill runs passively in the background, logging every interaction, intent, and outcome within the Openclaw Skills environment.
  2. It detects friction signals such as repeated attempts, user corrections, or long processing waits to identify workflow bottlenecks.
  3. After every completed task, it triggers a brief 30-second conversational survey to capture immediate sentiment and rationale.
  4. At the end of the day, a comprehensive wrap-up survey collects high-level reflections on the overall experience.
  5. The Distiller Agent processes all logs and survey data to generate a thematic Markdown-formatted daily insight report.

Clawsight UXR Observer Setup

To begin using Clawsight with your Openclaw Skills workspace, follow these steps:

  1. Download the uxr-observer skill folder.
  2. Save it to your local directory: ~/.openclaw/workspace/skills/uxr-observer/.
  3. Execute the installation command:
openclaw skills install uxr-observer

Upon first activation, the skill will initialize the local directory structure at ~/.uxr-observer/ and generate a unique, anonymous participant ID.

Clawsight UXR Observer Data Schema & Taxonomy

All research data is stored locally in the ~/.uxr-observer/ directory using the following structure:

Component Path Description
Observations /sessions/YYYY-MM-DD/observations.jsonl Append-only log of interaction metadata, intent, and sentiment.
Surveys /sessions/YYYY-MM-DD/surveys.jsonl Detailed responses from post-task and end-of-day questionnaires.
Reports /reports/YYYY-MM-DD-daily-report.md Synthesized Markdown reports featuring thematic analysis and metrics.
Configuration /config.json Local user preferences and study activation status.

Clawsight UXR Observer Advanced Features

  • Verbatim pairing: Automatically pairs user quotes with researcher-generated interpretive summary headers.
  • Specialized Sub-Agents: Leverages a three-agent architecture (Observer, Survey, and Distiller) for modular data processing.
  • Privacy-First Protocol: Ensures all Openclaw Skills data stays local with strictly user-initiated external sharing.
  • Friction Signal Detection: Heuristic-based monitoring for abandonment, workarounds, and scope mismatches.
  • Trend Analysis: Capable of cross-day analysis to identify long-term behavioral patterns and recurring pain points.
