What is Outgoing?

Outgoing is an AI concierge skill designed for the real world, converting open-ended natural language prompts like "where should we eat?" or "what's on near me?" into hand-picked, curated lists of real-world activities. Acting as a gateway for real-world discoveries, it helps developers and AI agents build context-aware recommendations for local events, dining, music, and excursions.

By integrating this tool, agents can access a vast catalog of global events and seamlessly route to specialized companion skills for focused tasks, such as finding kid-friendly activities or planning romantic evenings. This makes it an essential asset among the collection of Openclaw Skills for creating hyper-local, action-oriented search applications.

Outgoing Use Cases

  • Planning weekend trips or holidays with localized itineraries.
  • Quick search for local restaurants, live concerts, comedy shows, and museums.
  • Routing to specialized plans like date nights, work meetups, or pet-friendly outings.
  • Automated booking of tickets for events and experiences directly from an AI interface.

How Outgoing Works

  1. The user supplies a natural language search query along with optional geographic hints.
  2. The skill queries the Outgoing API (GET /partner/v1/search) with the compiled query parameters.
  3. The Outgoing API matches, ranks, and returns curated matches as a structured list of activities.
  4. If specialized scenarios are detected, the skill gracefully routes to companion sub-skills (e.g., date-night or kids-weekend).
  5. Once selected, users can seamlessly transition to the booking flow via the book-tickets sub-skill.

Outgoing Setup

To set up the Outgoing skill, you need to configure authentication with an Outgoing API key (partner scope) or use an AAuth key.

First, obtain an API key from Outgoing.

Set the following environment variable:

export OUTGOING_API_KEY="og_api_..."

You can also provision external user IDs if your agent acts on behalf of multi-user configurations:

curl -sS -G https://api.outgoing.world/partner/v1/search \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $OUTGOING_API_KEY" \
  -H "X-External-User-Id: user-123" \
  --data-urlencode "prompt=live jazz and a late dinner tonight" \
  --data-urlencode "city=paris"

Outgoing Data Schema & Taxonomy

The search endpoint returns a structured JSON payload detailing recommended activities. Below is the structure mapping returned data:
