What is Parallel History Simulator?

Parallel History is a sophisticated AI-driven simulation designed for the Openclaw Skills ecosystem. It allows users to step into pivotal moments in time, such as 1789, 1840, or 1918, to lead a faction through a strictly bounded 20-year political lifecycle. The skill utilizes a complex logic engine that balances material foundations, social tensions, and historical inertia to ensure every player decision has realistic, long-term consequences.

Unlike simple roleplay, this skill features a dual-mode structure. After your active political life ends, you transition into Observer Mode, where you watch your legacy unfold toward a final judgment on the Hall of Glory or the Pillar of Shame. It is an immersive tool for history enthusiasts and strategy gamers looking to explore 'what-if' scenarios with high technical accuracy and narrative depth.

Parallel History Simulator Use Cases

  • Simulating alternative outcomes for major historical events like the French Revolution or the Xinhai Revolution.
  • Testing political and social strategies within the constraints of specific historical eras.
  • Engaging in deep, long-form narrative roleplay with consistent world-state tracking.
  • Educational exploration of the material and cultural factors that drive historical change.

How Parallel History Simulator Works

  1. The user triggers the session using specific commands and selects a starting historical era and faction.
  2. The AI generates a detailed environment based on four dimensions: Nature, Society, Productivity, and Culture.
  3. Each turn covers 1 to 5 years, where the user makes strategic decisions while managing a 30% probability of random external or internal incidents.
  4. The system calculates success rates based on Fetters (alliances/rivalries) and historical logic, providing alternative paths if a chosen action is deemed impossible.
  5. Upon completing the 20-year cycle, the player enters Observer Mode to witness the final evolution of their influence.
  6. A final ending is generated, categorizing the player's legacy as either Glory or Shame based on sustained impact.

Parallel History Simulator Setup

To integrate this simulation into your environment, ensure you have the Openclaw Skills framework installed and the reference files indexed.

# Trigger the simulation via the Openclaw interface
openclaw run parallel-history

# Or use natural language triggers
"Start Parallel History"
"I want to change history from 1918"

Parallel History Simulator Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes data into several logical modules to maintain state across the 20-year simulation:

Data Module Description
Environment (4D) Tracks Nature, Society, Productivity, and Culture metrics.
Political Life A counter for the 20-year limit and turn-based progression.
Fetters A database of relationships, trust levels, and interest-based alliances.
Incidents A library of internal, external, and natural random events.
Legacy System Metadata tracking the long-term viability of the player's established organizations.

Parallel History Simulator Advanced Features

  • Custom Starting Points: Define any year and location in history to begin a unique simulation.
  • Realistic Constraint Engine: Prevents the introduction of anachronistic technologies or ideas.
  • Branching Narrative Logic: Provides realistic consequences and 'alternative paths' for failed high-risk maneuvers.
  • Multi-File Reference Support: Utilizes external documents for complex probability formulas and deep faction lore.
  • Inheritance Mechanics: Allows players to establish organizations or religious sects that persist into the Observer Mode.
