What is Paved?

Paved is a specialized platform designed for email newsletter advertising, bridging the gap between newsletter publishers and advertisers. This skill enables AI agents to interact with the Paved ecosystem to manage ad inventory, buy ad space, and track campaign performance. By leveraging Openclaw Skills, developers can programmatically handle the complexities of newsletter sponsorships without manual overhead.

The integration is powered by Membrane, which simplifies the developer experience by providing a unified interface for authentication and API communication. It eliminates the need for manual token management, allowing your agent to focus on high-level workflow automation and data analysis within the Paved marketplace.

Paved Use Cases

  • Automating the discovery of newsletter publishers for targeted ad campaigns.
  • Managing and tracking the performance of existing email newsletter advertisements.
  • Programmatically purchasing ad space and managing ad creative submissions.
  • Syncing Paved campaign data with internal marketing analytics dashboards.

How Paved Works

  1. Initialize the environment by installing the Membrane CLI and authenticating with your specific agent type.
  2. Establish a secure connection to Paved using a normalized domain URL which handles OAuth or API key exchanges server-side.
  3. Poll the connection status to ensure it is in a READY state before attempting data operations.
  4. Search for specific Paved actions using natural language intents to find pre-built functions for common tasks.
  5. Execute actions or send proxy requests directly to the Paved API with automatic header and credential injection.
  6. Retrieve and process JSON-formatted output for further agent decision-making or reporting.

Paved Setup

Prerequisites

Install the Membrane CLI globally to enable the Openclaw Skills integration:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Authentication

Log in and specify your agent type (e.g., openclaw):

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Connect to Paved

Create a connection to the Paved platform:

membrane connection ensure "https://www.paved.com" --json

Paved Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes interaction through a structured schema of actions and proxy requests. Data is typically exchanged in JSON format.

Object Description
Connection Contains the auth state, connection ID, and app metadata.
Action Includes id, inputSchema, and outputSchema for specific tasks.
Request Raw proxy data including HTTP methods, paths, and query parameters.
Output The JSON response returned from the Paved API after an action or request.

Paved Advanced Features

  • Natural Language Intent Discovery: Use the action list --intent command to find the right tool for the job without reading documentation.
  • Automatic Credential Refresh: Membrane manages session lifecycles, ensuring long-running Openclaw Skills remain authenticated.
  • Headless Authentication: Supports CLI-based login for remote or containerized environments.
  • Direct API Proxying: Access any Paved endpoint not covered by pre-built actions with full header management.
