What is Ploi?

Ploi serves as a comprehensive management layer for developers and agencies, automating the complexities of server setup, site deployments, and continuous monitoring. By integrating this tool via Openclaw Skills, users can bridge the gap between their development environment and production servers, ensuring a smooth and reliable delivery pipeline for PHP-based projects.

This integration utilizes the Membrane framework to handle the heavy lifting of authentication and credential management. It allows developers to focus on high-level infrastructure logic while the underlying system manages secure communication with the Ploi API, providing a seamless experience for managing everything from SSL certificates to cron jobs.

Ploi Use Cases

  • Automating the deployment of PHP applications and managing server environments.
  • Orchestrating database creation and managing remote database server types.
  • Configuring and renewing SSL certificates for web applications.
  • Setting up and monitoring cron jobs and daemons across multiple servers.
  • Managing firewall rules and PHP settings via a unified interface.

How Ploi Works

  1. The user installs the Membrane CLI to act as the interface between the AI agent and the Ploi service.
  2. Authentication is handled via a secure OAuth flow, ensuring that Openclaw Skills never store sensitive API keys locally.
  3. A connection is established using a specific connector key, generating a unique connection ID for session management.
  4. Users search for specific actions (like creating a site or restarting a server) using natural language intent discovery.
  5. If a required action is missing, the system can dynamically build a new action based on a technical description.
  6. The AI agent executes the action with specified parameters, receiving structured JSON output back from the Ploi API.

Ploi Setup

First, install the necessary CLI tool globally:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Next, authenticate your environment using your preferred agent type:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Connect your account to the Ploi service to generate a connection ID:

membrane connect --connectorKey ploi

Ploi Data Schema & Taxonomy

Ploi organizes data into a hierarchical structure to maintain clarity across complex infrastructures:

Entity Description
Server The primary host containing sites, databases, and firewall rules.
Site Represents a specific application, including its deployment history and SSL status.
Project A high-level grouping used to organize multiple servers or sites.
Infrastructure Includes metadata for Regions, Sizes, Images, and PHP Versions.
Security Manages SSH Keys, Firewall Rules, and User access levels.

Ploi Advanced Features

  • Natural Language Action Discovery: Find the right API tool by simply describing your intent.
  • Automated Auth Lifecycle: Server-side credential refreshing with no local secrets management required.
  • Dynamic Action Creation: Use Openclaw Skills to automatically build and poll for new integration capabilities if they don't exist yet.
  • Machine-Readable Workflows: Support for --json flags across all commands to facilitate multi-agent chaining and automation.
