What is Reflect?

Reflect is a specialized note-taking application designed to help individuals and teams build a networked knowledge base by linking notes together. This integration via Openclaw Skills enables AI agents to programmatically interact with the Reflect ecosystem, facilitating the creation and organization of notes, daily reflections, templates, and tags.

By leveraging the Membrane CLI, this skill simplifies the developer experience by handling complex authentication and credential management. It provides a secure bridge for Openclaw Skills to access personal or shared knowledge, ensuring that AI agents can retrieve context or store new insights without manual data entry.

Reflect Use Cases

  • Automating the creation of daily reflection notes based on agent-managed task completion.
  • Dynamically retrieving and linking interconnected ideas to provide deeper context for AI-driven research.
  • Organizing project documentation using standardized templates and tags through Openclaw Skills workflows.
  • Syncing external data sources directly into a personal knowledge base for centralized information management.

How Reflect Works

  1. The Membrane CLI is installed and used as the primary interface for managing the Reflect connection.
  2. The developer authenticates the agent using a tenant-based login flow that supports both interactive and headless environments.
  3. A connection is established to the Reflect domain, which is then monitored until it reaches a ready state.
  4. Openclaw Skills query available actions using natural language intents to find the most relevant tools for note manipulation.
  5. Actions are executed or raw requests are proxied through Membrane, which automatically handles authentication headers and credential refreshing.

Reflect Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI to enable communication between your environment and the API:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Next, authenticate your agent using the Openclaw Skills identifier:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Create a connection to the Reflect service:

membrane connection ensure "https://reflect.run/" --json

Finally, verify the connection status using the connection ID provided in the previous step:

membrane connection get <id> --wait --json

Reflect Data Schema & Taxonomy

The Reflect skill organizes information into a structured hierarchy designed for networked thought. When utilizing Openclaw Skills, data is mapped across the following entities:

Entity Components Description
Note Content, Title The primary unit of information, supporting Markdown and internal linking.
Daily Reflection Date, Content Specific logs used for daily tracking and chronological organization.
Template Structure, Variables Pre-defined formats for creating consistent note types.
Tag Name Categorical labels used for filtering and relationship mapping.

Reflect Advanced Features

  • Transparent credential refresh that handles expiring OAuth tokens without manual intervention.
  • Natural language intent discovery for finding pre-built actions, reducing token consumption and implementation time.
  • High-level proxy request support for accessing experimental Reflect API endpoints while retaining Openclaw Skills security benefits.
  • Support for headless environment authentication via manual authorization codes.
