What is RunRelay?

RunRelay is a specialized travel infrastructure designed specifically for AI agents, providing a bridge between complex travel inventories and autonomous workflows. By integrating this into Openclaw Skills, developers can grant their agents access to over 300 GDS airlines and a unique Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) system for low-cost carriers (LCCs) like Ryanair and Wizz Air, which are typically unavailable via standard APIs.

The platform offers a hybrid fulfillment model. It provides instant API results for major carriers and utilizes an asynchronous operator-backed system for budget airlines to ensure 100% market coverage. This makes it an essential tool for building reliable travel concierges, corporate booking bots, and itinerary planners that require more than just standard flight data.

RunRelay Use Cases

  • Searching for flights across both major GDS and budget low-cost carriers
  • Automating hotel searches and bookings across 700,000+ properties worldwide
  • Building autonomous travel agents with Human-in-the-Loop booking capabilities
  • Orchestrating multi-agent workflows for simultaneous flight, hotel, and activity planning
  • Providing real-time travel status updates and booking management for users

How RunRelay Works

  1. The AI agent triggers a flight or hotel search request through the Openclaw Skills interface.
  2. For standard GDS flights, the API returns instant results (Tier 1).
  3. For low-cost carriers, a Tier 2 request is initiated where human operators assist in fetching live data, which the agent polls via a status endpoint.
  4. Results are returned with a sorted ranking based on price, duration, and layover quality.
  5. Upon user selection, the agent submits passenger details to the booking endpoint to finalize the reservation.
  6. The system provides a unified booking ID and status for tracking and management.

RunRelay Setup

To integrate this capability into your environment, add your API key to your configuration file:

# Add to ~/.openclaw/.env
RUNRELAY_API_KEY=rr_live_your_key_here

You can acquire a live key from the RunRelay developer portal.
