What is Session Reflect?

Session Reflect is a sophisticated tool designed to bridge the gap between your technical workflows and personal growth. By extracting and sanitizing message history from your Claude Code sessions, this skill enables you to maintain a continuous mirror of your development journey. It leverages the structured nature of Openclaw Skills to provide deep insights into your priorities, emotional state, and technical blind spots.

The skill doesn't just store data; it synthesizes it into structured Markdown files within your Obsidian Vault. This allows you to combine your automated session logs with your own personal notes, creating a holistic view of your productivity. Whether you are tracking daily progress or looking for long-term behavioral patterns, Session Reflect provides the technical framework to turn raw terminal interactions into valuable self-knowledge while keeping all processing local and private.

Session Reflect Use Cases

  • Daily reflection to track work progress and emotional state during development tasks.
  • Goal drift detection to identify if your actual coding behavior aligns with your stated weekly objectives.
  • Surfacing hidden behavioral patterns and unconscious preferences over 14-day periods.
  • Maintaining a sanitized, searchable archive of Claude Code interaction logs within a personal knowledge management system.

How Session Reflect Works

  1. The extraction script performs an incremental sync of Claude Code session files stored in .jsonl format.
  2. Data is sanitized by redacting sensitive information like API keys, tokens, and passwords while replacing code blocks with placeholders.
  3. Sanitized session digests are generated as daily Markdown files and stored in your Obsidian Vault.
  4. The agent analyzes the combination of new session logs and existing vault notes to detect patterns and context.
  5. A final reflection journal is produced, containing structured observations and actionable suggestions for improvement.

Session Reflect Setup

1. Install

Clone the repository or install as a Claude Code command:

git clone https://github.com/yuiooo1102-droid/session-reflect.git ~/coding/session-reflect
mkdir -p ~/.claude/commands/reflect
cp commands/reflect/*.md ~/.claude/commands/reflect/

2. Initialize

Run the initialization script and provide your Obsidian Vault path when prompted:

python3 ~/coding/session-reflect/extract_sessions.py init

3. Sync and Use

Sync your latest sessions before running reflections, or use the integrated slash commands:

python3 ~/coding/session-reflect/extract_sessions.py sync
# Then use in Claude Code:
/reflect
/reflect drift

Session Reflect Data Schema & Taxonomy

Session Reflect organizes data across specific directories in your Obsidian Vault to maintain a clean taxonomy within Openclaw Skills:

Directory File Type Description
/对话记录/ Daily Digests Sanitized logs of daily Claude Code interactions.
/自我观察/ Reflection Journals Output from /reflect, /reflect drift, and /reflect emerge commands.
/自我观察/画像/ Monthly Portraits Long-term behavioral summaries and identity mapping.

All session messages are truncated at 2000 characters and sensitive boilerplate is filtered out to ensure data clarity.

Session Reflect Advanced Features

  • Incremental sync and deduplication logic to ensure your Obsidian Vault stays updated without redundant data.
  • Comprehensive privacy filtering that automatically redacts JWTs, passwords, and sensitive system prompts.
  • Multi-range temporal analysis spanning 1-day, 7-day, and 14-day windows for different levels of insight.
  • Cross-referencing capabilities that allow the agent to analyze your manual notes alongside automated logs for deeper context.
