What is SignalLink?

SignalLink is a specialized utility designed for the Openclaw Skills ecosystem, serving as a dedicated router for financial and system alerts. It acts as a bridge between webhook-emitting platforms—such as TradingView, uptime monitors, or CI/CD pipelines—and Telegram, ensuring that critical data reaches the user as a clean, formatted message instantly. By deploying SignalLink as part of your Openclaw Skills library, you eliminate the need for third-party subscription services and maintain full sovereignty over your notification data.

The tool is built on FastAPI for high performance and includes robust security features like constant-time secret validation. It is particularly effective for traders who need low-latency execution signals delivered to their mobile devices without relying on middlemen. Integrating SignalLink into your workflow through Openclaw Skills provides a professional-grade notification system that is both cost-effective and highly customizable.

SignalLink Use Cases

  • Forwarding TradingView price alerts and strategy execution signals to a private Telegram group.
  • Routing system events, such as uptime monitors or deployment notifications, to a mobile bot.
  • Building a self-hosted trading signal system that replaces paid SaaS alternatives.
  • Consolidating multiple webhook sources into a single, human-readable Telegram feed using Openclaw Skills.

How SignalLink Works

  1. The SignalLink server listens for incoming POST requests from external webhook sources on a dedicated endpoint.
  2. Upon receiving a request, the system validates the X-Webhook-Secret header to ensure the source is authorized.
  3. The internal logic parses the JSON payload, automatically identifying fields like symbol, action, price, and timeframe.
  4. A formatting engine converts the raw data into a structured Markdown message with relevant emojis for quick visual scanning.
  5. The Telegram Bot API client transmits the final message to the user's specific Chat ID immediately.

SignalLink Setup

1. Telegram Configuration

Generate a bot token via @BotFather and retrieve your Chat ID using @userinfobot.

2. Environment Setup

Configure your environment variables by copying the example file provided in the Openclaw Skills repository:

cp .env.example .env

Edit the .env file to include your TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN, TELEGRAM_CHAT_ID, and a secure WEBHOOK_SECRET.

3. Deployment

Run the service using Docker for a containerized environment:

docker compose up -d

Alternatively, install dependencies and run via Python:

pip install -r requirements.txt
python -m App.main

SignalLink Data Schema & Taxonomy

SignalLink organizes incoming data using a flexible mapping system. Standard payloads are expected in JSON format with the following primary fields:

Field Aliases Description
action signal The trade direction: buy, sell, close, or neutral
symbol ticker The asset pair, e.g., BTCUSD or XAUUSD
price close The execution or trigger price
strategy strategy_name The name of the alert source or algorithm
sl / tp stop_loss / take_profit Risk management levels

The skill also includes a /webhook/raw endpoint for generic key-value pairs that do not follow the standard trading schema.

SignalLink Advanced Features

  • Auto-detection of signal formats to handle varying payload structures from different vendors.
  • Secure authentication using constant-time comparison to protect against timing-based security threats.
  • Multi-format support including raw key-value mapping for non-trading alerts within Openclaw Skills.
  • Health check endpoints to facilitate integration with automated monitoring and self-healing infrastructure.
