What is SONA?

SONA is a sophisticated agentic wallet designed for the Solana ecosystem, bridging the gap between autonomous AI reasoning and secure blockchain execution. By integrating with Openclaw Skills, SONA allows users to deploy an agent that observes on-chain states, reasons based on predefined YAML policies, and executes transactions such as transfers and swaps. The core of SONA is built on four immutable Constitutional Laws that ensure the AI remains within strict safety boundaries, providing a secure environment for automated asset management.

At its heart, SONA utilizes a cycle of observation, reasoning, and execution. While the AI provides the intelligence for decision-making, a Rust-based backend enforces hard limits on expenditures and transaction transparency. This architecture ensures that users maintain full control over their funds while leveraging the efficiency of an autonomous agent for real-time blockchain interactions.

SONA Use Cases

  • Automating recurring SOL transfers and payments based on custom reasoning logic.
  • Monitoring live SOL/USD price feeds via Pyth Hermes for informed trading decisions.
  • Implementing a human-in-the-loop approval system for high-value transactions using assisted mode.
  • Maintaining a radical transparency audit trail by attaching on-chain Memos to every transaction.
  • Managing complex wallet behaviors through human-readable YAML policy configurations.

How SONA Works

  1. The agent observes the current wallet status, including SOL balance, address state, and cycle statistics.
  2. It analyzes the environment and user instructions against the established YAML policy rules.
  3. A decision is formulated to execute a specific blockchain action, such as a transfer or a mode switch.
  4. The execution engine validates the action against Constitutional Laws, specifically checking the 50M lamport spend cap.
  5. The transaction is simulated to prevent failure; if successful, it is signed, executed, and logged with an on-chain Memo receipt.

SONA Setup

1. Initialize SONA

git clone https://github.com/Ubuntu-Technologies/sona
cd sona
bun install
bun run sona init # Set passphrase and create wallet
bun run sona start # Agent starts on port 3000

2. Configure Environment and Authentication

After starting the service, obtain your JWT session token via the login API and export the following variables:

export SONA_API_URL=http://localhost:3000
export SONA_TOKEN=<your_session_token>

3. Install via Openclaw

clawhub install sona

SONA Data Schema & Taxonomy

Data Component Description
YAML Policy Human-readable rules that define spend limits and agent behavior.
On-chain Memo Mandatory metadata strings attached to every transaction for auditability.
Session Token JWT used to authenticate state-changing operations like transfers and mode shifts.
Activity Logs A summary of agent cycles, last run times, and execution history.
Status Metadata Real-time tracking of current mode (Standard, Assisted, or God Mode) and cycle stats.

SONA Advanced Features

  • Constitutional Law Enforcement: Immutable Rust-level checks that override any AI decision to ensure safety.
  • Fail-Safe Halting: Immediate agent shutdown if transaction simulations fail, preventing fund loss.
  • Multi-Mode Operation: Switch between autonomous execution and assisted modes requiring manual user approval.
  • Oracle Integration: Direct access to Pyth Hermes for real-time, high-fidelity price data within the reasoning loop.
  • Natural Language Interface: Full chat support allowing users to issue complex commands to the wallet agent using plain English.
