What is TeamCity?

TeamCity is a robust build management and continuous integration server designed to automate the build, test, and deployment phases of software development. This skill brings the power of JetBrains' CI/CD ecosystem to Openclaw Skills, allowing agents to monitor project health and trigger actions programmatically. By utilizing the Membrane framework, it eliminates the need for manual API key handling, providing a secure and scalable way for AI agents to interact with internal development infrastructure and development data records.

TeamCity Use Cases

  • Triggering specific build configurations through natural language commands.
  • Automated monitoring and reporting of CI/CD pipeline statuses within Openclaw Skills.
  • Managing project-level settings and build dependencies via AI-driven automation.
  • Orchestrating complex deployment sequences across multiple TeamCity environments.

How TeamCity Works

  1. The developer initializes the environment by installing the Membrane CLI tool to manage Openclaw Skills.
  2. User authentication is handled through a secure browser-based or headless login flow, removing the need to manage secrets locally.
  3. A connection is established to the target TeamCity instance URL, which Membrane normalizes and matches against known application patterns.
  4. The agent searches for specific capabilities or data records using natural language intents.
  5. Actions are executed with JSON parameters, while the system handles the underlying authentication headers and transparent token refreshes.

TeamCity Setup

To begin, install the required CLI and authenticate your agent environment:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest
membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Connect to your TeamCity instance using the following command to establish a secure link:

membrane connection ensure "https://your-teamcity-instance-url.com/" --json

If the connection state is BUILDING, poll the status until it is READY:

membrane connection get <id> --wait --json

TeamCity Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes its data and interactions through a structured schema to ensure compatibility with Openclaw Skills:

Component Description
Connection ID A unique identifier for the authenticated TeamCity server instance.
Action Schema Defines the required input parameters (e.g., buildId, projectLocator) and expected output types.
Intent Query Allows agents to discover actions like 'run build' or 'get project status' using natural language.
Proxy Request Provides a direct path to the TeamCity REST API with automatic header injection.

TeamCity Advanced Features

  • Natural language discovery via action lists to find the best integration logic for Openclaw Skills without manual configuration.
  • Support for headless environment authentication, ideal for remote servers or CI environments.
  • Automated credential management that handles server-side Auth lifecycles without local secrets.
  • Direct API proxying that supports custom HTTP methods (POST, PUT, PATCH) for advanced build management scenarios.
